    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: gcresearch Surnames: Henderson, O'Donnell, Donnelly Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.henderson/8448/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I have a maternal great-grandmother, Sarah Henderson from -- broadly -- the Manorcunningham area of Donegal. She appears to have had a brother Charles. I can't find any further information on them. I would love to hear from anyone who knew more about this family. Sarah Henderson probably was born between 1840-1850 and in 1871 she married Robert O'Donnell in Leck. She died in 1909 in Ray Raymochy. The couple appear to have lived in Corkey and Carrickballydooey. They had a passle of children: Bridget, Charles, Hugh, Edward, Maggie, Mary, Annie, Isabell. Charles, Annie and Maggie married and raised families in Donegal. Bridget moved to Derry as did Mary. Mary died young, unmarried. THe rest I am unsure of - possibly the US? 2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: David_Hughey Surnames: Henderson, Hughey, Proffit, Gorman Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.henderson/8429.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: You got the names a bit mixed up, but this sounds like my cousins, John Alec Henderson and his wife, Sella (or Zella) Hughey. They were 4th cousins of each other when they got married as Zella Hughey Henderson was descended from Jane Henderson and her husband, William Gorman. Together, they had six children. Both the Hugheys and the Hendersons were originally from Kentucky, but the families moved to Michigan to get jobs. Unlike her husband, Alec, Zella was born in Mancelona Township, Antrim County, Michigan. I'm descended from Zella's uncle, Robert Franklin Hughey, and her aunt, Martha Frances Proffit. Zella's dad, William Edward Hughey, married Martha's sister. The auto accident took place in 1937 in Antrim County, Michigan, and both of them died as a result. They had been married nearly 15 years at the time of the accident. Alec was descended from James Alexander Henderson (1784-1866) and Zella, from James's sister, Jane (Henderson) Gorman (1776-1831). I hope this helps. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. On the back is printed "PVT. LEVI HAROLD HENDERSON to Ramond & Edna & baby" (Me being the baby). By that Levi was in the service around 1952-1955. Since my grandmother was Lula Henderson Tarr, living in Bracken/Robertson Cos in KY one would assume this Levi is related to her (Edna was her daughter). I am looking for any relatives of this young man. Would love to share the picture and hopefully stories and information concerning the Henderson family from the Bracken and Robertson Co's area. Henderson Posted: Wednesday, Jun 04, 2008 - 11:14:17 am PDT COLUMBIA BASIN HERALD, MOSES LAKE, WASHINGTON STATE Clyde E. Henderson, 93, passed away in his home on May 31, 2008. Clyde was born to John Henderson and Mattie Lee on Dec. 4, 1914, in Kerr County, Texas. Though he came to homestead in Block 40, Moses Lake, he still kept Texas near and dear to his heart. Clyde was an honest, hardworking man who touched many lives. He was a true patriot who served our country during World War II in the Marine Corp, 3rd Marine Division. On July 6, 1945, Clyde married Fern Becker and moved to Block 40 in 1951 where he farmed and ranched until 1991 when they moved into Moses Lake. He was widowed by Fern's passing in August of 1993. Clyde found love again in Twyla Shangle. They were married on July 8, 1995, and were happily married until his passing. Twyla brought into his life her children and their families, Debra and Mike Shay, Twyla (Denise) Bowman, and Monte and Liz Shangle who he loved as if they were his own. Twyla also brought into his life her grandchildren Mike, Tanya, Nicole, Kristin, Jacob, and Tyler as well as three great-grandchildren. Clyde touched all of their lives deeply. Clyde's passions in life were the Presbyterian Church, his family, fishing in Alaska, extensive traveling, and woodwork. He was also a proud Republican who was truly proud to say that he was an American. He also enjoyed all the time he spent drinking coffee with the "boys" up at Bob's Caf/. Clyde had many friends and touched the lives of all that he met. He was a true gentleman and cared wholeheartedly about the wellbeing of others. He will truly be missed by all that knew him. Clyde is preceded in death by his parents John and Mattie, Wife Fern, brothers Irvin, Jack, Jasper, and Welton.
