I have a James Henderson, but he was born in Bracken Co, KY around 1827. His father was Wm Henderson born around 1765 in Loudon Co, VA. His father was Samuel (per Wm's death record). I figure Samuel was born around 1735-1740. There was a Samuel Henderson at Ft Boonesboro, KY whose marriage was the first for KY and their daughter, Fannie (I believe), was the first white child born in KY. I have not been able to connect them as of yet, but it is in the same frontier area and time frame. Sometimes it gets frustrating, but yet it is so much fun digging...... Most likely distant Henderson cousins from somewhere, Paula Avery PS When we went to Williamsburg, VA in May I came across a grave of a James Henderson. I thought...wouldn't that be amazing, but definitely haven't gone back that far with connections. **************It's only a deal if it's where you want to go. Find your travel deal here. I just wanted to make sure...because in searching in N Ireland knowing where they lived or were born is very important...that people aren't taking the info from Immigration lists. On that info it might state a person or family left from Londonderry but that doesn't mean they lived there. Those places were very big ports of departure back then. Families traveled across counties to get to ships at those ports to go to America , Scotland and Australia. For example..My Hendersons lived in Co Fermanagh. Some of their relatives who immigrated would have traveled to Londonderry to board ships to America. I just thought it was important to "state" this. It is very hard to search in N Ireland, that the more info you have the better it is. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Hi Norman, Your name sounds familiar; are you on the "former Township of Gore" List? I just want to add to your message that my ancestor, William HENDERSON, arrived in Canada in 1823, and he and his wife, had at least 10 children. His daughter, Elizabeth, married her cousin, Robert KERR, and they had 5 children. Between 1875 and 1885 most of the family came down to MA. And, another daughter married in Canada and came down to VT, first, and then down to MA. (I can retrieve her name from the archives of the "former Township of Gore" List.) And, William's older brother, Samuel, and his wife, arrived in Canada with him. They and their KERR relatives were part of a family-group going to the Prov. of Quebec. I believe Samuel only had about 4 children; I'd have to check on that, also. There is a man in Canada who spent many years researching the descendants of this family-group - which combined had about 40 children. I can't offer his information, but there is a good chance that many of their descendants came down to the US more towards 1900. ... I also want to mention that there were probably many of the "British Home Children" arriving in Canada between the 1860's and 1930's had the surname, HENDERSON. And, either they or their children might have made their way down to the US. .. The HENDERSON name probably can be found in the archives of most of the Canadian Lists. Just FYI's ! Betty (near Lowell, MA, USA) (on Lists for 7 years; now an Administrator for 7 Lists, including CAN-USA-MIGRATION and LAURENTIDES.) Remember to check the archives of all the Lists and Boards for your surnames and place-names. And, please remember to check the on-line auctions for for your surnames and place-names.

Jack has my bottom lip that always splits in the Winter. Mom's ancestors are Lewis', Jarvis/Mathis', Wood(s) including Eula May Henderson. I will post Curtis Woods Family (1104) and Samuel Wood (1105) and others from The Heritage of Wilkes County, Wilkes County G.S. I'm from CA living in OR if I can help. Many of my Lewis' ended up somewhere from VA to KY and TN to Crawford County, Arkansas, Pottawatomie County, OK and then west to San Juaoquin County, California.
