I am seeking information regarding Dr. James Claude Henderson. He joined the Confederate Army in St. Clair County Missouri in 1861. He was stationed for most of the war in LaGrange, Ga. where he met and married Electa Cornelia Forbes. He had two sons, Walter Tillou Henderson, and George Gilbert Henderson. Dr. Henderson may have died in 1871 or he may have split up with Electa Forbes. He may have been living in Missouri in 1874. His father's name may have been Sandy and he may have been from what is now West Virginia or North Carolina. Thanks Dean Henderson

Since the HENDERSON list has been so very active with folks looking for their John Henderson, I'm going to try again-- Having lots of difficulty getting anywhere on "my" John, so I'm hoping one of you John Henderson experts out there will take pity on me. John Henderson (guessing a birth date of about 1840) married an Unknown JACKS (or could it be JACOBS?) son: John A. Henderson (b abt 1863) married Mary B. A. TOLER on 5 Jun 1890 (Johnson County) IL. son: Louie Edgar Henderson (b 9 May 1891) ILL. John A. lived in Union County at the time of his marriage to Mary. John A. owned a clothing store and farm near Goreville, ILL Family believed to have "come up from the south"--KY, TN, AL, AR ? Major Henderson of Dividing Creek on Dec. 25, 1819. I think this maybe the other Major Henderson? Could it be the one with Elizabeth? I see where it said the John Henderson and Anna Winston, he died in 1796 and was buried in Dividing Creek and she was from there and is buried there also. Then it said Major Henderson b. 1773 lived there also in Downes Twp. which must be Dividing Creek. Someone told m Major Henderson the one with Polly Strozier m. in Knoxville, Tn. was Charles? I just don't know for sure. I also found out that Fairfield, NJ. is where Jones Island is where Theodosia Diaments family lived. I believe the David Henderson who was in NJ. was with Sherry Williams. Were they the ones in Millville, NJ? I am looking for a Mary Elinor Garrison in Wilson Co. listed in Rockford, Ill. b. in Feb. 20 Rockford, Ill in 1850 census. I am searching for info on Jeremiah Henderson b. ca 1837 in SC. He married Frances Sarah Rowe Dec 10, 1857 in Benton, AL. Is this a county or town? Frances Sarah Rowe was b. ca 1839 in GA. They had 2 children that I can find. Sarah and George Thomas Henderson. Jeremiah may have been killed or died in Civil War but can't find unit. There is a Jeremiah M. Henderson with the 44th Alabama but can't prove he's mine. Both children were born in Calhoun Co., AL. George Thomas wound up in Leake Co., Ms. Someone point me in the right direction. Hello List, I have a cousin that has a family bible, she e-mailed me last night with the following info. Bible was given as a wedding gift from William J (or T) Henderson b. 9/16/1824 to Cordelia A. Genda b. 11/20/1825, they married 10/25/1848. Two children Charles W. b. 8/5/1849 and Cordelia A (or W) died at birth 10/17/1851 Charles married Caroline A. Garing b. 11/30/1840??, they married 1/1/1869. It is said that Caroline was blind late in life. Their children were: Mary G. b. 8/27/1869 Cordelia A. b. 8/23/1873 Robert G. died at birth 6/18/1875 Charles W. b. 10/21/1876 Minnie E and Alice W. born 3/13/1880 or 7/13/1880. Minnie died 2/1/1881, Alice died 4/30/1882 Arthur W. b. 10/171882 d. 8/14/1883 Edith Winters b. 7/19/1884 Frederick Bonnell b. 8/14/1887 d. 10/2/1972 (my grandfather) Florence Mabel b. 5/27/1890 d. 1/23/1891 Other Marriages are: John Dahnken to Mary E. Henderson 6/17/1888 were there any children?? Joseph A. Allan to Delia A. Henderson 11/29/1891 were there any children?? Charles W. Henderson to Jeannie H. Henderson. it could be that Jeannie died and Charles remarried a Louise (Loaua) and she died 1/2/1918 she is buried at S. Orange Cemetery, S.
