    3. Not this line, but other lines. Try: http://www.gencircles.com/ It will be of greatest benefit IF you know how to create a GEDCOM file. The site will help you do the upload. It then matches EVERYBODY in your database against every other person in their database! Fantastic. 2. Steve Henderson
    3. I'm researching a line of Hendersons that originally settled in Essex County, Mass. in 1730. (Thomas and Rebecca Henderson) There were several generations that remained in Mass., then moving on to New York. (Thomas married a Mary Anderson in 1743 in Essex County and had 5 children, four of whom lived past childhood) Like most family trees, there are a lot of holes. I am also at a loss to figure out how to trace the tree backwards. (I found one reference to Thomas Henderson who later married Mary Anderson as having been born in Clackmannanshire, Scotland, but the historical reference I have notates them coming from Ireland, making them Scotch-Irish.) Any thoughts?

    3. Posted on: Henderson Queries Reply Here: http://genconnect.rootsweb.com/gc/FamilyAssoc/Henderson/11195 Surname: Edward Henderson, Elmer Henderson ------------------------- I appologize! We've been under the mistaken impression that the "ancestors" were from Houlton NOT Caribou and that the "Woodland" they mentioned was the town - NOT the community outside of Caribou. Now that my ducks are somewhat in order...please help me find some trace of my Dad's family. He was Odber "Od" Henderson, his dad was Elmer Nicholas Henderson, & grandfather was Edward Henderson. Edward was married to Catherine Hammond & killed in an accident - supposedly was buried in a cemetary which is now under water somewhere in the area. Elmer donated land for the school & was choir director of a nearby church and owned a large farm across from the school & church. "Od" came west, along with his older brother, Aubrey, shortly after the turn of the century. Any info would be greatly appreciated as I'm coming back there this summer to continue my search. Thanks in advance for any assistance you're able to give me.

    2. Dear Carol, I know this may not be an Archibald Henderson that you are seeking, however, may be a process of elimination? One Archibald HENDERSON, called Esquire, was of Granville Co NC 1790, and in deeds in Madison Co KY, was named as one of the Executors of the last will and testament of RICHARD HENDERSON deceased of Granville Co NC. The Exers. were selling land belonging to this Richard, held in Madison Co KY land records. This land was located on Otter Creek. The Exrs were named as ROBERT BURTON, BROMFIELD REDLEY, RICHARD HENDERSON, and ARCHIBALD HENDERSON Esquire, Exers , and selling to REUBIN SEARCY. It further appears this Archibald HENDERSON was CC (Clerk of the County) and living in Granville NC at the time of sale.
