    1. [HENDERSON] minnie henderson, claude norris
    2. minnie and claude were my grandparents. the only information that i have is that minnie was born 1878 and died 1902 in vernon, illinois. am seeking information of any hendersons in the vernon, marion county, illinois area during that time. there is a possibility that the hendersons might possibly be from kentucky as the norrises had recently moved from there around 1870.

    1. [HENDERSON] Re: JOSEPH HENDERSON b.1770 JANE MCGEE - IRE
    2. I am a descendant of their son Robert, born 2/14/1795, died 3/2/1885 in Brown County, Indiana. I take it you are looking from the ancestors of Joseph and Jane? My understanding (derived from the research of others) is that Joseph was the son of John Henderson and Mary (Polly) Bane, and that Jane was the daughter of Robert McGee and his wife Jane. Does this fit with your information?

They had their first born daughter named SARAH J. PARTON/PARTON born 1837 in HARDIN, KY and she married ZACHARIAH RAY on 5 MAY 1867 in PULASKI CO., KY. ++++++++++++++++++++++ Second daughter: ELIZABETH "J" (Jane?) HENDERSON who was born in 1838 and she married JOHN W. LONG on 18 JUNE 1856. They had a daughter named SARAH JANE LONG born 10 MAR 1857. This made me think that the parents may have been a "Sarah or Jane" Henderson for Delilah's mom...or for James' mom...first and second born daughter thing with the naming game...you know? are normally the moms of the couple. ++++++++++++++++++++++++ JAMES RILEY PARTIN (now I have seen that RILEY name and it is not frequent in all surnames or in many of them for that fact...so I search for an earlier "RILEY" PARTIN who could have been father to my James or a RILEY HENDERSON...Since this James is the first born son to my ggg grandfather I was thinking that RILEY was his dads name and he gave his own first name to his son...JAMES...are there any JAMES or RILEY PARTINS in Tennessee or the Carolinas? ++++++++++++++++++++++++ MARSHALL was born in 1844/45 in HARDIN KY and Ill be dang but I cant find anyone! in the PartinPartonParten or Henderson family with that first name...could it have been a surname? given as a middle name? ++++++++++++++++++++++++ JOHN "A" (alfred or Arthur) born in 1846/47 in HART COUNTY KENTUCKY...they moved to HART from HARDIN sometime in 1845/1846. ++++++++++++++++++++++++ JOSEPH "A" PARTIN born 1846/47 (may have been a twin to John A.) married ELIZABETH ANN MEECE on 16 MAR 1876. ++++++++++++++++++++++++ PERMELIA PARTIN was born in 1849 in PULASKI COUNTY, KENTUCKY and married WILLIAM HENRY MEECE ++++++++++++++++++++++++ CHARLES MARION PARTIN was born 11 APR 1851 and married a ELIZABETH HUDSON on 21 AUG 1879 and he died 15 JAN 1939 and is buried at Decatur, Illinois at the CHANDLER CEMETERY. ++++++++++++++++++++++++ MATTHEW FLOYD PARTIN this man is my great great grandfather. HE WAS NAMED AFTER ONE OF TWO MEN I THINK...THERE IS A MATTHEW FLOYD WHO WAS A BAPTIST PREACHER AT INDIAN CREEK BAPTIST WHERE ALOT OF MY FAMILIES WERE ATTENDING OR THEY WERE PREACHERS THERE IN THAT TIME FRAME. THERE IS ALSO A MATTHEW FLOYD PARTIN AS WELL I HEARD AND STILL NEED TO RESEARCH AS I BELIEVE THAT THE TWO NAME COMBOS ODD IF NOT FROM THE SAME FAMILY.....Matthew Floyd Partin. MATTHEW FLOYD PARTIN married CELIA BALZER LAY, the daughter of a HENRY LAY and ELIZABETH TRIMBLE (Darter/Tarter/Trimble/Lay) MATTHEW FLOYD was born 16 JULY 1854 in PULASKI COUNTY, KY. He married on 13 FEB 1873 and he died 20 OCTOBER 1938 ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ NAPOLEAN B. He came to INDIANA first from KY and the others followed soon thereafter. My mother thinks he paid for my gggrandfather's funeral. This is highly possible as my great grandfather (LEWIS GREEN was his name) is not buried next to my grandmother and my grandmother had no money and lived with various children when she was older. ++++++++++++++++++++++ Does anyone have any other information on this couple and their children?...every single one of these names were given to my Henderson/Parton offspring...although no Nelson or Samuels that I know of...Any ideas? 3. Thank you for sharing this information. I am going to take what you sent me and send that information in the form of a forwarded email to other Henderson researchers and as well I will send it to the Henderson-L list as I am interested in the siblings of John Henderson. I have other researchers with whom I email, that are certain descendents of this family. I will ask them to contact you directly as I am not certain where my ggg grandmother DELILAH HENDERSON fits in...until then I will keep hoping. If you hear anything further on John's family and such, please email me. Thank you....Kitty. Chris Pedersen <chrisped@netdirect.net> wrote: Kitty, I just responded to your message on GenForum with the following information. I hope it is helpful! I have been unable to find anything further about John Henderson (b. 1740), but am still trying! Christine Pedersen Zionsville, Indiana I have a Delilah Henderson (b. 1800), daughter of Joseph Henderson (b. 1770,Montgomery Co., VA; d. July 30, 1816, Jackson Co., IN) and Jane McGee (b. 1780; d. 1835, Jackson or Brown Co., IN) They were married March 4, 1794 in Montgomery Co., VA. Their children are: William, Robert, Polly, Delilah, John, Jane, Elizabeth, Joseph, Sarah, Samuel and Harriet. I have Delilah married to a Joseph White, but no other information on that line. She may have been married more than once, so could have also been married to James Partin. I am descended through Delilah's older brother, Robert. My information was researched by someone else, so I do not have any documentation on this, but have not found any conflicting information yet either. For Joseph Henderson (b. 1770), I have his parents as John Henderson (b. 1740, Virginia; d. 1812, Montgomery Co., VA) and Mary (Polly) Downard (b. 1750, Virginia; d. 1834). I also have that John was also married to a Mary O'Brien. John is listed with 10 children: Thomas, Mary (Polly), Sarah (Sally), Samuel, Joseph, John, Robert, Jonas, William and Jane. --------------------------------- Do You Yahoo!? 2. I think we are related. My grandmother on my mother's side was Bertha Alice Henderson. I remember my mom saying that her grandmother's name was Katie. I have been trying to find out information on this side of the family. Mom always said there was a lot of Creek Indian on her side of the family. Write to me. I'd love to see what you've found out.
