    1. [HENDERSON] HENDERSON - PARTIN families....I'm "looking" for you!
    2. Landscape Lady - Kitty
    3. ARE THERE ANY OTHER HENDERSON/PARTIN families "out there"? I am "Miss >^oo^< Kitty" of Los Gatos, CA and you can email me at kittyparton@yahoo.com or go to my www.landscapelady.com and you can check out my personal page on my family surnames. Subject: DELILAH HENDERSON and JAMES W. PARTIN both born 1805 & 1810 in Tennessee The following are the offspring , dates of birth and their known spouses: *************************************** I find my great great great grandparents first in HARDIN KY in 1837. They had their first born daughter named SARAH J. PARTON/PARTON born1837 in HARDIN, KY and she married ZACHARIAH RAY on 5 MAY 1867 in PULASKI CO., KY. ++++++++++++++++++++++ Second daughter: ELIZABETH "J" (Jane?) HENDERSON who was born in 1838 and she married JOHN W. LONG on 18 JUNE 1856. They had a daughter named SARAH JANE LONG born 10 MAR 1857. This made me think that the parents may have been a "Sarah or Jane" Henderson for Delilah's mom...or for James' mom...first and second born daughter ++++++++++++++++++++++++ JAMES RILEY PARTIN (now I have seen that RILEY name and it is not frequent in all surnames or in many of them for that fact...so I search for an earlier "RILEY" PARTIN who could have been father to my James or a RILEY HENDERSON... or RILEY PARTINS in Tennessee or the Carolinas? ++++++++++++++++++++++++ MARSHALL was born in 1844/45 in HARDIN KY that first name...could it have been a surname? given as a middle name? ++++++++++++++++++++++++ JOHN "A" (alfred or Arthur) born in 1846/47 in HART COUNTY KENTUCKY...they moved to HART from HARDIN sometime in 1845/1846. ++++++++++++++++++++++++ JOSEPH "A" PARTIN born 1846/47 (may have been a twin to John A.) married ELIZABETH ANN MEECE on 16 MAR 1876. ++++++++++++++++++++++++ PERMELIA PARTIN was born in 1849 in PULASKI COUNTY, KENTUCKY and married WILLIAM HENRY MEECE ++++++++++++++++++++++++ CHARLES MARION PARTIN was born 11 APR 1851 and married a ELIZABETH HUDSON on 21 AUG 1879 and he died 15 JAN 1939 and is buried at Decatur, Illinois at the CHANDLER CEMETERY. ++++++++++++++++++++++++ MATTHEW FLOYD PARTIN this man is my great great grandfather. HE WAS NAMED AFTER ONE OF TWO MEN I THINK...THERE IS A MATTHEW FLOYD WHO WAS A BAPTIST PREACHER AT INDIAN CREEK BAPTIST WHERE ALOT OF MY FAMILIES WERE ATTENDING OR THEY WERE PREACHERS THERE IN THAT TIME FRAME. THERE IS ALSO A MATTHEW FLOYD PARTIN AS WELL I HEARD AND STILL NEED TO RESEARCH AS I BELIEVE THAT THE TWO NAME COMBOS ODD IF NOT FROM THE SAME FAMILY.....Matthew Floyd Partin. MATTHEW FLOYD PARTIN married CELIA BALZER LAY, the daughter of a HENRY LAY and ELIZABETH TRIMBLE (Darter/Tarter/Trimble/Lay) MATTHEW FLOYD was born 16 JULY 1854 in PULASKI COUNTY, KY. He married on 13 FEB 1873 and he died 20 OCTOBER 1938 ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ NAPOLEAN B. PARTON (now I have never!! been able to find that given name in the HENDERSONs or the PARTINs...so what's up with this name??!) NAPOLEAN married MARY S. GAINES. +++++++++++++++++++++++ MARY MARTHA PARTIN born 27 FEB 1859 married WILLIAM E. MCLIN died in childbirth on OCTOBER 9, 1888. ++++++++++++++++++++++ My cousin Tammy shared the following: "Family lore says JAMES PARTIN had money. He came to INDIANA first from KY and the others followed soon thereafter. My mother thinks he paid for my gggrandfather's funeral. This is highly possible as my great grandfather (LEWIS GREEN was his name) is not buried next to my grandmother and my grandmother had no money and lived with various children when she was older. ++++++++++++++++++++++ Can this couple be found in other census records, marriage records, ship's passages or land documents...just tell me where to search... ++++++++++++++++++++++ Everton Publication= Delilah Henderson was born as a Child to Joseph Henderson B. 1770 Virginia and Jane McGee B.1770 in Ireland , other children were William, Robert b. 1795, Polly, DELILAH, Jane, Elizabeth, John, Joseph b. 1808, Sarah, Nelson and Samuel. ==== HENDERSON Mailing List ==== ============================== Join the RootsWeb WorldConnect Project: Linking the world, one GEDCOM at a time. http://worldconnect.rootsweb.com --------------------------------- Do You Yahoo!? 1. [HENDERSON] Henderon's in IL and IN
    2. Frances, I am really taking a flying leap with this, but here's to hoping: Have you heard of a Henry Henderson? At the time of his sister's (Lena, 1879-1950) death, he was listed as living in Chicago. I don't know where your Vermillion Co. is in relation to Chicago, but I thought I try. By the way, Lena, Henry, their other sister, Emma, and their father, Peter, lived in Fulton County, Indiana. Peter moved to Indiana before 1864, because he served in the Civil War in an Indiana infantry. Peter and Emma all buried in Fulton Co. Indiana. Lena is buried in Marshall County, Indiana. Those counties are neighbors. I hope this made sense and is useful. Let me know. By the way, Lena was my great grandmother. 1. [HENDERSON] Re: VA/NC HENDERSONS-are we related? Hendersons wanted to take DNA Test
    2. depending on what you are looking for, dna testing is gender-dependent. in this particular case, the test would have to be amongst direct-line male dependents because through the generations, only they carry the y-chromosone.

    1. [HENDERSON] Re: VA/NC HENDERSONS-are we related? Hendersons wanted to take DNA Test
    2. Robin, Are you serious about DNA testing? If so, why only test males? I don't know very much about DNA. Is it gender sensitive? I, too am researching a Henderson connection; never thought of DNA testing. Getting material from an ancestor for comparison might be a little tricky. Let me know what you think. belinda

    1. [HENDERSON] Re: HENDERSON
    2. I too attended a Mouyer reunion in Washington, DC in July, 1999. The Mouyer name is traced back to a Chieftain Mouyer who was brought here from Africa. According to the information I have, he was purchased by Dr. Curtis B. Attwood, who resided in the area of Waterbury, CT. I understand that he had two boys, David Mouyer and Elo Henderson (adopted surname of his slave family). Does any of this sound familiar or connect with the info you have? Are you aware that there is another Mouyer reunion taking place in Atlanta, GA on July 19 - 22, 2001? If you respond to my email, I will fill you in. That is unless you are at the reunion.

    1. [HENDERSON] Dr. Alexander Henderson and family NC/VA/MS
    2. All I have to go on are news articles, obits and head stones in Oakwood Cemetary in Tunica, Ms. but... My ggrandfather was John Wimbish Henderson born in Charlotte, NC, 10/7/1855, he married Josephine Stephens, in 1901 in Shaw, Bolivar Co. Ms., died 10/17/1933, in Memphis, Tn. buried in Okawood Cemetary Tunica, Ms. He moved to Tunica and was a law partner with W.L. Bankston. He and Josephine lived in Tunica until their deaths. His parents were: Dr. Alexander Henderson from N.C., mother Malinda Wimbish from Va. born 11/28/1829. I know they had at least two daughters: Sarah Leigh Henderson b. 1853, Charlotte, NC and Fannie Leigh Henderson, b. 1855 Charlotte, NC. As the story goes, when John was 4 years old his family moved to Mississippi, his father Alexander died when he was 12years old. John and his mother and sisters moved back to Virginia. Then in 1888, John moved back to Holly Spring, Ms. to practice law. Col. or Maj. Pleasant Henderson is suppose to be John's grandfather but I can't sort all these Hendersons out. Does anyone see a connection? Has anyone ever heard of this family? I know Fannie Henderson married a Gardner and had six children, then she remarried a Mr. Leslie and lived in Ms. I also know Sarah married a Anthony S. Green from Cairo, Ill. about 1913, but I don't know if she was married before or had children.

    1. [HENDERSON] VA/NC HENDERSONS-are we related? Hendersons wanted to take DNA Test
    2. I am descended from James Henderson, ca. 1732 of Onslow Co NC. Various sources have us related to/descended from James Henderson, Accomack VA/Somerset MD ca 1662, John Henderson of the Tidewater VA, ca 1620, and the early Hendersons of Augusta Co VA. I'd like to find male volunteers of each of those lines to take a DNA test. See www.familytreedna.com for details. The price is $219 per person, less then I spend on trips to the various libraries.
