I have not been able to come up with any information about a Brice Henderson born in Cumberland Co. PA and married to a Anna or Susannah Thomas in Indiana Co. PA. Anyone have any ideas? Randy in So. IL
I just posted this to the Glover and Guppy boards about Henderson marriages to the Glovers from Salem in the 1600s. I'd love to hear from Hendersons or Booths or Bullys who are descendants of these families from Saco, Maine or Salem, MA. Thanks. Mariana Bean Ruggles sent me some information from the Genealogical Dictionary of Maine and New Hamphire, Sybil Noyes, Charles Thornton Libby and Walter Goodwin Davis - The Southworth-Anthoensen Press, Portland ME 1928-1939 This is my basic outline of the Bully/Booth/Henderson/Glover inter-connections: *means my grandparents If anyone reading this sees mistakes, please let me know. Thanks!! *Nicholas Bully I born about 1610 in Stoke Fleming, Devonshire, England Death: 1678 in Saco, ME , fisherman. Nicholas m. *_____. Their children: 1. *Nicholas Bully II, b. about 1628 buried 4/29 1644 in Saco, ME; m. *Ellen Booth http://worldconnect.genealogy.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&db=tinker&id=I07305 2. Ann, married Ambrose Berry in 1653. Her second husband was William Seadlock and her third husband was John Carter. 3. Grace, born abt. 1633 4. Tamsen, buried on July 20, 1661 Saco 5. Elizabeth married Thomas Doughty on January 24, 1669/70 Saco *Nicholas Bully II and *Ellen (also called Eleanor) Booth, daughter of *Robert and *Deborah? Booth, married in July, 1652 in Saco (York County) Maine. Ellen may have been the daughter of Deborah or of ______? from Robert’s first marriage. I haven’t found out yet, as there’s conflicting information. Robert was quite a guy! I have a lot of URLs saved to put together his history which I haven’t done yet. E-mail me and I’ll send them. Nicholas and Ellen had two known children: 1. *Abigail Bully, born February 1, 1654/55 in Saco; married *Peter Henderson, Saco. I don’t know who this Peter’s father is. 2. Nicholas III, born February 1 ?, 1661/62 m. ? *Peter Henderson and *Abigail (Bully) Henderson had the following children: 1. John ? Henderson 2. Peter Henderson married Elizabeth Beadle on Nov. 11, 1701 in Salem 3. Ebenezer Henderson married 1st Elizabeth Marston on Nov. 3, 1715 in Salem. His second wife was Mary Dolbear, a widow. They were married on Dec. 2, 1730, Salem 4. Benjamin Henderson married Abigail Beadle on July 22, 1706, Salem 5. *Abigail Henderson born Oct. 1676 in Salem, married *Jonathan Glover on March 31, 1699, Salem (she was 17 when they married?). Jonathan was the son of *John Glover and *Mary (Guppy) Glover from Salem. After the death of Nicholas Bully II (before July 5, 1664), *Ellen (Booth) Bully married John Henderson from Saco. I don’t know who his parents are either. They had the following children: 1. John, born January 15, 1665/66, Saco; married Abigail ____ on May 6, 1687 in Salem. They had three recorded children but I don’t know their names. 2. Peter, born January 14, 1666/67, Saco, married Hannah Glover on April 2, 1687 in Salem. They had nine recorded children. Hannah’s parents were also John and Mary Glover from Salem. In a book, Salem in the Seventeenth Century by James Duncan Phillips, in the chapter that talks about King Philip’s War, Mr. Duncan states that the “Hendersons and Bowdens from Saco” left for Salem because Saco was so badly destroyed. I don’t think everyone left Saco, including all the members of the Henderson/Booth/Bully families. I haven’t been able to find a good site about Saco yet. Later, in the 1700s (I haven’t completed the history of this family), *John Cook II and *Hannah (Dean) Cook had a daughter, Elizabeth Cook, b. abt. 1706, who married Joseph Henderson in Salem and their first-born daughter, *Mary, married *Joseph Glover, the son of *Jonathan Glover and *Abigail Henderson, Salem.

No indication is given of what happened to these men. This is the only list that could be found in the British War Department." Henderson: Alexander, ephraim, Joseph, Michael, Robert, William. I have no information about any of these men. Would be interested to know if any have been identified. Carol
