Do you have anything more on your George from Indiana? I have three George Henderson's born 1871, 1891, and 1894; all in Indiana.
John Henderson, from Ireland, took up land in Jefferson Co., OH, in what became Ross Twp, in 1804. His wife was Sydney. His five children were Robert, John, Mary, Thomas and William (my line). John, Sr. died in 1813, leaving a will (Jefferson Co. will bk 1, p123); and an inventory (estates vol II, p127-130). Sydney lived at least until 1821, when she is mentioned in a deed. I don't know where in Ireland they came from, but the name is Scottish and they do not seem to be Catholic. so probably Ulster.William and his family left for Wayne Co., OH in the 1830's. He died there in 1845.
I am interested in any Hendersons in Eardington Birmingham If anyone has a1891 census I am looking for Ada Louisa Henderson or any of that family Thank you for your time and effort Alan
Some Hendersons are listed in the following. From: "James Slone" <jimslone@knology.net> To: TNGREENE-L@rootsweb.com That's me with the Old Ledger. Check out http://www.fortunecity.com/meltingpot/latvia/101/OLindex.html If you go to one of the index pages, you will find some page numbers underlined. These are the pages I have transcribed so far (I'm slow, I'll admit). If you click on a page number that is underlined, it will take you to the page. Let me know if you find an account you want me to transcribe. It will take me a little while, but I'll do it for you. Jim Slone >From the Page: An old ledger has been passed down through my family for several generations. I don't know the source of it, but it appears to be from a trading post or general store somewhere in Greeneville or Greene County. The accounts cover a period from 1815 to 1820, and many of them mention the names of Greene County's early settlers. We plan to donate the ledger to the McClung Collection in Knoxville, in hopes that they can provide a suitable environment for its preservation and research. In the meantime, however, it certainly has value to genealogists. We are therefore posting an index to the names in the ledger, and hope to transcribe its contents before turning it over to the McClung Collection.Genealogists: Please don't expect a wealth of information. Most of the entries are "Mdse per Day Book" and "Paid in full per Day Book." However, there are a few tidbits that make it worthwhile. For example, a comment above the account of William Brown identifies him as "Jotham's Brother." This may be of interest to Brown researchers. Mr. Henderson: Although your message to which I respond is two years old, it's never too late, is it? I was wondering (and hoping) if the name JAMES LANTY HENDERSON has possibly cropped up somewhere in your research. He was the father of my husband, Jerald Lanty Henderson. I have NO information on him other than what appears on Jerry's birth certificate. He was evidently born in or about 1885 (exact date and location are unknown), his being 44 when Jerry was born in Lincoln, NE in 1929. He died from bone cancer a few years later - somewhere in the early- to mid-1930s (evidently BEFORE social security numbers were issued since his name does not appear in the social security death records). At the time of his demise, he and his wife operated a boarding house (or small hotel) that catered to jockeys who rode at the adjacent track on the Nebraska State Fair Grounds. His family also included a daughter, Norma (later Mrs. John Halvorson) who was older than Jerry. Later, his widow ! - the former Amalia (note the spelling of her Christian name) Harding (born USSR in 1900; arrived USA via Hamburg, Germany in 1906)- married a second time to a John McNeil and toward the end of the 1930s, the family moved from Nebraska to the greater Los Angeles area. Amalia Harding Henderson McNeil died in San Bernardino in 1966. We have no other information on James Lanty Henderson. (My husband has never had an interest in his background and does not really even remember his father.) If any of this sketchy information rings a bell, I will appreciate hearing from you. Many thanks, Betty Arnold Henderson, Bradenton, Florida.
My great great Grandfather was George Henderson of Logan Indiana who later moved to Casey Illinois. Is this possibly the same George?

I have to say this list has the shortest messages I have ever seen on a list. 99% of the time I have no idea what they are responding to or how they might fit in with my genealogy. Any suggestions?? Eunice Henderson married Josiah Parkhurst in 1810 in Truxton, Courtland County New York, would like to learn her parents and ancestry. I have many records regarding the Parkhurst's family, two volumes actually, but have not learned anything more of Eunice. Their children were John, Josiah, William G., Henry J., Calvin, Franklin (Frank), Harriet and Thomas E.
