Hezekiah A. Henderson was b 09 Sep 1810 in Logan Co., KY. He died 03 Apr 1891in Elk Co., KS. He was married twice; first to Nancy Hill in IN 1831 and second to Mary Ann (Wood) Underwood. Looking to share notes and try to decipher this family.

"WAUCHULA WOMAN IS STRUCK AND KILLED BY HIT-RUN DRIVER - WAUCHULA, Aug. 23 - (Special) - Miss Emily Henderson, 60, was killed here tonight by a hit-and-run driver, whose car struck her as she was crossing the highway near her home, two miles north of Wauchula. The car that struck her is thought to have been a 1931 model, green Chevrolet coach, an according to witnesses was going 50 miles an hour north on the highway toward Bowling Green, but may have turned off the highway toward Parrish. The body of Miss Henderson was badly mangled. A coroner's jury was empaneled, but has not yet completed its investigation. Miss Henderson is survived by a sister, Mrs. W. P. Gunter, with whom she had resided several years, and a brother, John Henderson, of Cullman, Ala. Funeral arrangements have not been completed, but the body will be buried here." In all probability my John Henderson (married Sydney(----) was the father of your John Henderson m. Jane Greadon. John I left a will (1813--Jefferson Co VR) naming children Robert, John, Mary, Thomas and William (my line). John I left land in Ross Twp. He first appears in Jefferson Co. on land grant records in 1804 in Smithfield Twp (Ross Twp was not created then). Hope this helps. Louisa was my great, great grandmother also, the records I have gathered show her b. 1818, d. 1898, m. 06/06/1846. I don't have any further information to share on her parents, but the indian cemetary she is buried in on River Mountain in Deleware, Ark. is currently undergoing an archelogical survey. Also buried there are approx. 36 other realitives of the Box,Vernon, Underwood and Roberts families. The history I recieved is a hand written account from my grandmother, but it refers to the fact that the Box and Vernon families were indians.

William H. born abt. 1855-1857 in Alabama, married Mary (Mollie) Latta in Blount County, Al. on 9/19/1875. Will died on 3/8/1911--he was my grgrgrandfather. Will and Mollie are both buried in the "Old Mill" or "Mill Village" Cemetery also called Comer or Avondale Mills Cemetery. The story goes that Will owned alot of land in Blountsville, Al, but like to gamble and lost everything on a bad bet. .My grandmother, nee Lucy Henderson, said he was cheated out of the land, then moved to Birmingham/worked at Avondale Mills. I am searching for info on this story and info on his parent or siblings. His son Walter L. was my grandmother's father. Thanks in advance!
