I still do not know his wife's name. My g grandfather, William Henderson b1865, was married to Lue Alice. She was born in 1888. I just have not had very much success with the wives' maiden names. Keep me posted and I will do the same. Merry Christmas!

    1. Thomas Johnston Henderson
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Henderson, Johnston Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/yNi.2ACEB/5525 Message Board Post: I am writing a piece on Tom Henderson for the Caswell County Historical Association website: http://www.rootsweb.com/~ncccha/ Thomas Johnston Henderson was born June 4, 1883, to Archibald Erskine ("Baldy") Henderson (1843-1918) and Alice Finley Johnston (1852-1932), daughter of Thomas Donoho Johnston and Adaline Williamson. Birth was in or near Yanceyville, Caswell County, North Carolina. Tom Henderson was a newspaper person, writer, raconteur, and quite a unique character. He started a newspaper at the age of 12 (in 1895) and seemed to know all that was going on in Caswell County and surrounding areas his entire lifetime. Attached is a photograph of him that appeared in the 8 December 1941 edition of "Life" magazine. He was a life insurance "solicitor" in Yanceyville, North Carolina when not pursuing his writing career. I would appreciate anything you are able to provide on Tom Henderson, his family, and his writings. Additional photographs of him would be a real plus. I do not have his date of death, the name of his wives, or the names of his children (believed to be two daughters). Thanks and best regards. Rick Frederick CCHA Webmaster
