If you look at the 1880 US Fed. Census, You will see Susan C. Henderson and 6 kids. Another interesting thing about the 1880 Arkansas census is that all of the kids were born in Tennessee except Susan C. the Mother. She was born in Georgia. My great great grandmother was Julia Sweat Miller, d/o James Jarrell Sweat and Mary Blackburn, and wife of Stephen F. Miller. I am trying to find out who were the parents of the Davis children living with Berrien and Martha Ann Davis in 1880. They are listed as nephews, Colwell, age 6, and Andrew, age 3. Berrien's niece, my Julia Sweat Miller, is in Waycross at the very same time with a niece, Frances M. Davis, age 4. I cannot find that Julia had a family member who could have provided this niece, and I believe that Martha Ann Davis Henderson gave Julia this child and that Andrew and Colwell ( Colquit ?) were the brothers of these orphan children. I cannot find the missing brother of Martha Ann who could have provided these children. Any ideas ? Most of my family spent 1835 onwards in Whitby. They were the descendants of William Henderson who was born in South Shields in 1810/1811. He was the son of Matthew Henderson and Margaret (nee Williamson) who were married in Great Ayton in 1797. My campaign is this - to get my Hendersons into Scotland. Therefore, if anyone can either give me any more information on Matthew in particular OR has details on any Scottish Hendersons who moved into South Shields pre-1797 then I'd be VERY grateful Thanks Pete Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
