He was born at Saylor, KY the son of the late Wright Helton and the late Lucy Revis Helton. By occupation he was a retired logger and coal miner and had been a life long resident of Leslie County. He was a member of the Middlefork United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by six infant children, one sister: Oma Helton Saylor and also by one brother: John Centers Revis. Mr. Chester Helton leaves surviving the following relatives, wife: Mary Caldwell Helton of Helton, Ky., one daughter: Ruby Helton Depew of Putney, Ky., four sons: Herman Helton, Edgar M. Helton, Richard G. Helton, Herthel C. Helton all of Helton, Ky., one sister: Nettie Helton Caldwell of Helton, Ky, one brother: Jack Helton of London, Ky., 10 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and a host of other reltatives and friends. Funeral services for Mr. Chester Helton were conducted Sunday, October 12, 1997 at 2 PM at the Middlefork United Methodist church, Helton, with Rev. Reed Brock, Rev. Larry Stubblefield and Rev. Earnest Brock Officiating. Interment followed in the Honey Branch Cemetery, Helton, KY.
