A native of Harlan County, she was a former waitress for Ackley’s Cafe in Harlan and a member of Evarts Church of God of Prophecy. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hobert Helton; her mother, Relda Johns Perkins; her father, Joe Perkins; and a sister, Laura Farmer. Survivors include her daughter, Judy K. Hensley and husband, Philip, Middlesboro; one brother, Lawrence Perkins, Dayhoit; three grandchildren: Pvt. Phillip Jason Hensley and wife, Rebecca, Middlesboro; Christina Hendrickson and husband, Jason, Middlesboro; and Sgt. Michael Hensley and wife Amanda, Washington; and a host of other family and friends. Visitation will be held today from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Evarts Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 2 p.m. at Evarts Church of God of Prophecy with the Rev. Glenn Hayes and the Rev. Allen Lord officiating. Burial will follow at Evarts Memorial Gardens.
