His wife was Katherine/Katie Stansbury Green Helton. I have heard about indian heritage, but don't know where. Their children were: John (b. May 9, 1891), Bert (Sept. 11, 1888), Dee (1894), Nettie Murel (Aug 3, 1896-Oct. 1977), David Leonard, and Annabelle(Jan 1, 1899). My great grandmother was Nettie Murel Helton. She married Andrew Leslie Askew. As far as I know, they are all from Alabama. William and Katherine/Katie are buried in Tuscumbia, Alabama.
