I also have the names Lou/Lon and Ira Sipsy. I think that Ira was the brother of Robert Allen sipsy. My dad remembers a man who he called Uncle Ira. We are having a Sipsy Family reunion this weekend so any info you can share about them would fill in some blanks. Henry Sipsy was born in Germany and married Mary Bell. I would assume that he married Mary in Madison AL. due to dates and census info. They wasn't in AL long as far as I can tell. Their children: William Sipsy b. abt 1860 Caroline Sipsy b. abt 1865 W.H. Sipsy b. September 17, 1865 d. August 14, 1933 Louisa Sipsy b. abt 1867 Rosena Sipsy b. abt 1869 Robert Sipsy b. abt 1873 Lon/Lou Sipsy b. abt 1874 W.H. Sipsy wasn't on the 1880 Madison AL census so I'm not sure if this is really William or if he fits into this family. It just appears that Henry was the only Sipsy in AL or TN at the times. W.H.'s birth and death dates came from a death certificate. I believe that one of the males above would be my greatgrandfather. Unsure of which. I have more info if you are interested. Please contact me and let me know how you are related to the Sipsy's. I really hope that you can help me connect some of the people I have found.

It helped uncover the fascinating story of the parts played by descendents of the Helton family in the founding of early America including the true background of William and Edward Hylton who arrived in New England in 1621. It helped uncover the story of Anthony Hylton who became Governor of Nevis & St Kitts in the Carribean in 1628, and Sir William Hylton's exploration of the Carolina coastline in the 1660's, and the story of the Hyltons of Jamaica. It also helped throw new light on the relationship between the Hylton family and the Washington family (neighbors of the Hyltons of Hylton Castle) in England and in colonial America until the founding of the United States. In July 2004, we intend to hold another Reunion of the Hylton/Helton/Hilton families at Hylton Castle, England to help complete more pieces of the family jigsaw puzzle. Can you help? Details of the Hylton Reunion 2004 can be found at; http://www.AncestryUK.com/HyltonReunionItinerary2004.htm All Hylton family descendents are welcome to attend. Note; Alexander de HELTON (actual spelling) of Hylton Castle is expressly named "Baron of the Bishopric"(of Durham) in the charters of Bishop Hugh, making a convention with Germanus the Prior and John, the Archdeacon between 1171-1174 A.D.

Some Heltons married into the Deckard family. Does anyone have a family bible that has any information about Jacob and Elizabeth Deckard of Indiana? Without a link to show that Jacob was actually one and the same, we cannot prove our ancestry and connection to Jacob in Indiana and Jacob who fought in the Revolutionary War. Help! Any clues.
