Leonard was a cousin to Carlo, a nephew to Elijah, a great nephew to Elisha. Leonard had my father Otha Ogden Helton in 1909. As for the Blanton's, my great-grandmother was Matilda Blanton married James Crawford (my grand mother's parents).

My grandfather was Benjamin Franklin Helton, born Feb. 27, 1887 in Gray (Knox Co) Kentucky, died January 28, 1965, in Cawood (Harlan Co) Kentucky. He was married to Sarah Frances Disney (December 29, 1893, Gray, KY--May 14, 1975, Cawood, KY.) I am unable to locate ANY of his ancestors. All I know is that is father was "Jim Helton," who supposedly was a "crazy man" who sat on the railroad tracks when the train was coming, and had to be pulled off on many occasions. Papaw and Mamaw had lots of kids---Dexter, Glen, Thomas Randolph, Virgie, Kernal, Charlie M., Claude, Malvina, Leroy, Eulias Theodore (my father), Henry Dishman (H.D.), and Garland. Of these, Tom, Virgie, Malvina, Theodore and H.D. are still living. If anybody can help me get further back, I would appreciate it very much. This has been my brick wall for many years.
