    2. Help! My brick wall is early on. I believe my great-grandfather was James Helton Jr., son of James and Nancy Helton Sr., nephew to Shadrack. I have no other information on him, other than that he liked to sit on the railroad tracks when the train was coming. He died when my father was a young child. Jim and his wife (unknown) had only 2 or 3 who were raised by an uncle. They lived in the Ellis Knob Coal Camp in Cawood, (Harlan County) KY. Any help would be appreciated. Elaine

The spelling of his name could have been an error by the transcriber. Some of the writing was very difficult to read. Do you have the names of Pompey & Lucinda's children? Do you know the names of their descendants? I would try to make contact if possible. Someone may have info you don't. Do you have info re Lucinda Cook & her family? Someone may be researching her Cook line. You might be able to discover his name from that researcher. Did Pompey & Lucinda Helton continue to live in Rutherford Co. TN or did they move to one or more counties? I would contact the historical societies in each county to inquire if others are researching their Helton line. Judy

Will list everyone with that surname The Tennessee Civil War Home Page http://members.aol.com/jweaver303/tn/tncwhp.htm Lists the regimental units formed in each county.
