She married at James Helton's, does it say he is her father? It could be a mistake on her name. My grandfather has two marriage license in Harlan Co. Ky. One is right he is married to my grandmother and the other one is wrong, it has he married my grandmother's sister Lettie also. Lettie married Carlo Helton, my grandmother Fannie married Leonard Helton. It has Lettie married to Leonard Helton and Carlo Helton as the witness. Just a thought since it happend to my family. I will look for Sarah Helton and see what I can come up with. Good luck. Sue

Ky 1900 Census record it shows Sarah 28 years old married to Millard Whitehead age 39. They have been married 14 years in 1900. So they must have married in 1886. They have 6 children at this time, they end up with at least 12 children. This Sarah appears to be Sarah Scott, not Sarah Helton. She is a sister to Rachel Scott, not a daughter. The names of the children of James Helton and Rachel Scott are as follows: Fannie:1880.... Henry Helton: 1881.... Laura: 1882.... Flora:1882.... Leonard Helton:1883 (my grandfather)...... OllaMae1884...... Mellie...1886..... Margaret:1888.... Elva:1891.... Elizabeth:1897.... Thomas:1901...and Stephen (private records). Is it possible this is your Sarah? Mary Sue.
