The only Heck currently in my tree is Catherine "Kitty" Heck who was born 1781 in Pennsylvania and married Michael Wilson, September 15, 1807 in Fairfield County, OH. She was still living in 1840 and had died by 1860; I have thus far not found the family in the 1850 census. They lived in Perry County and Hocking County (later Vinton) and had at least ten children. There is a Frederick Heck living near her father-in-law who is perhaps related to her. Any connections? Anne Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com

I am researching my John Heck who was born in Effingham Ga in 1767. His father was Casper or Gaspar Heck or Hack. Casper got an English Crown Land Grant in 1752 (for land in Effingham or St Matthew Parish as it was then known). I am not sure where he came from but he is affiliated with the GA Salzbergers at Ebenezer. John Heck married Agnes Powledge in 1795. By 1830 he is in Alachua Florida and married to Maria Lipsey. They married in 1827. Sometime around this time he decided to change his name to Hague. He died in 1836 while on active duty in the Seminole Indian Wars and his estate is settled in the names of John Hague and also John Heck. If anyone is connected with my John Heck/Hague please contact me. Sheila from Alaska casperfamily@mosquitonet.com

Hi, My name is Bob Heck and I just joined the HECK mailing list. I have been researching the HECK family for over 20 years and have the family starting in Alendorf, Germany in the early 1700's. My gggf, Johann HECK, and gggm, Anna Barbara SCHAEFER, came to America in 1852 with five of their children. The children were Peter HECK, Anna Lucia HECK, Henry HECK, Joseph HECK, and Clara HECK. They settled in Brighton, Kenosha County, Wisconsin and lived there until 1859. Anna Barbara SCHAEFER died in 1855 in Wisconsin and Johann HECK married Susannah SIEBENBRUNNER, widow of Nicholas ZEREN. The children of Johann HECK and Susannah SIEBENBRUNER were Lucy HECK, Joseph (Joshia) HECK, Andrew HECK, and Anna HECK. The family moved to Swan Lake, Nicolet County, Minnesota in 1857. In 1862 they were driven out by the Sioux Indians during the uprising that year. The family returned to Brighton, Wisconsin in 1862, and remained until about 1870. Part of the family returned to Swan Lake, MN in 1870 and part remained in Racine and Kenosha Counties, Wisconsin. I have extensive research that I would like to share with interested researchers.
