I knew she didn't come from our line of Heck's but it seemed so sad to have her lost. I'm hoping someone can identify her so this picture can be returned to a relative. I've attached the photo to this message so it can be viewed. I think the time period is early 1900's as I have similar ones of my family. The picture is on a postcard but no writing except the name on front. Contact me at donnaheck1@comcast.net for further info. Donna Cagle Heck
I am a descendent of Daniel Heck (b. abt 1751) through his son Godfrey Heck (1777-1858). While researching, I came across "History of the Heck Family of America" by Earl Leon Heck. It deviates a bit from the information I have received from other sources: I show that Daniel and Catherine Heck had the following children: Jacob (md to Elizabeth) Peter Eva (md to Henry Thomas) George (md to Nancy Shockley) Godfrey (md to Elizabeth Kimmer) John (md to Catherine Kimmer) Christina (md to Peter Kimmer) The above mentioned source states that, altho Daniel did have a son John and a daughter Christina, it was his son, John, who had a son John who married Catherine Kimmer. Also, Daniel's daughter Christina married Conrad Cook (rather than Peter Kimmer); and that it was Daniel's son, Jacob, who had a daughter Christina who married Peter Kimmer. The above mentioned source also listed additional children: Thomas Elizabeth (md to Aaron Borarn) Catherine (md to John Moyer/Myers) I have other questions about the data in this book; however, will wait to see the answer to this one first. Hoping someone can clarify this family for me. Lenore

There were Hecks here before, but I have been unable to tie them together. Wilhelm, Frederick, and Jacob Heck came with their mother and steo father and step sibs: Wilhelmina, Jacob, and Elizabeth Arnold. They immigrated in 1850. They also landed at New Orleans. Let me dig a little. Johannes Heck (father of Wilhelm, Frederick and Jacob) died in Germany. Mother-Maria Christina Lorenz. Step Father-Philipp Arnold. Parents of Johannes Heck- Georg Heck and Maria Bopp.

May I ask the dates we're talking about because this sounds very familiar to me and I can't figure out why and it's not on my tree, but why is it sticking in my head?
