Marcia - I have the following information from "The Heaton Families", by Dean Heaton (pp 315-316): Josiah was born in Fauquier County Virginia in the early 1790's. He married Milley Garrett in the late 1820's. She was born about 1794, the daughter of Richard and Carry Garrett. Milley died in Limestone W.Va. on 11-20-1869. Children: 1. William Madison, see below 2. Josiah, b. about 1830. 3. Jane, m. Billie Mills 4. Caroline, m. Henry Mills 5. Alcina, m. James Hardway 6. Henry, b. 05- -1833; d. 11-25-1910. 7. Gibson 8. George 9. Martha Anne, m. Elisha Smallwood William Madison was born in Virginia in 1829. He married Ann Elizabeth Hardway in 1851. She was born in 4- -1830, the daughter of Jacob Hardway and Sarah Heckman. They lived in Virginia until 1860 when they moved to Braxton County W. Va. William died on 1-17-1906. Ann died on 3-10-1907. Children were Lydia Jan, Laura Ellen, Sarah Mildred, Ernest, Josiah, Matthew, Josephine, Jacob Hardway, Hamilton Burton, and Charles Andrew.
