    3. John HEATON, b. Hardwick township, Sussex County, NJ in 1754 and married Anne DRAKE of Independence, Sussex County in 1789. Anne was the daughter of Joseph Drake of Roxbury Township. Johb HEATON was the son of BENJAMIN HEATON (1726-1790), who lived at Kingwood, Hunterdon County, NJ before coming to Hardwik, Sussex County. I understand that both Hardwick and Kingwood were Quaker communities, and suspect these Heatons were Quakers. Can anyone tell me if the Quakers would have kept family records, and how I could get access to them? Thanks. 3. Marti, your Wm Connor HEATON and Mary MAISH are covered in Dean HEATON's second set of books, HEATON Families II, out just last year...........they're on pages 431 and 432 (Vol 1) and their extended families throughout the entire Chapter 10, starting on page 379............Your Wm's number is 1-10-618 in the book. Dean indicates there's some confusion about their marriage ~~ There are also three mentions of a WAGGOMAN, but not yours ~~ I don't know where he got his info, or how it's been verified but hopefully you have access to his book and can get the info you wish..........I just finished two hours of typing on my own line from the book to send to a newly found cousin, or I'd type it up for you...................right now I'm totally burned out on typing...............and won't have time to do any more for at least a month. 3. Hi! I'm new to this list, so please forgive me if this is a repeat. I'm looking for information on my great-great-grandfather, William Connor HEATON. William was born 14 Aug 1828 probably in Hamilton County, IN. He died 7 March 1893 in Clinton County, IN and is buried in Greenlawn Cemetary, in Frankfort, IN. In between, he married Mary Ann WAGGAMON 17 August 1848 in Clinton Co, Indiana. They had a son named Daniel W. HEATON. Mary Ann died before 1868. On 19 April, 1868, William married my great-great-grandmother, Mary Ellen LOONEY MAISH, a widow with 2 living children. Their only child together was my great-grandmother, Martha Ellen HEATON, who was born 1 Dec 1868 in Frankfort, Clinton Co, IN. A David HEATON signed a consent, giving William permission to mary Mary Ann WAGGAMON. I'm guessing that was William's father, but it could have been another male relative. Does anyone know anything about William HEATON? Was David his father? Who was his mother? Thanks in advance for any information you may have. Marti asksuddarth@juno.com

    1. RE: Enoch Heaton
    2. Lori Alquier
    3. I have that Enoch was born in England in 1774. He came to America with his parents who settled in Bucks County, PA in the mid 1790s. In 1798, he is known to have settled in Spring Township, Center County, PA. He married Eva Fetzer who was born in 1780. Her parents were from Germany, but she may have been born in PA. After a time, they moved to Boggs Township. Enoch was a laborer and a hunter. Eva died there on 2/23/1858. Enoch died in Yarnell, PA on 11/16/1857. I have a list of his children if you need it. The source is "The Heaton Family" by Dean Heaton. Hope this helps.
