Dear Listers, My number one brick wall for 22 years now is my third great-grandfather Travis WALKER, born about 1786 somewhere in VA, according to most records. (One record listed TN as his birthplace) Travis married a lady named Elizabeth, fathered at least three children: William 1812-1876 Harrison Co WV; Lucinda, who became the first wife of Shadrack COTTRILL and died at St Marys in 1852; and Travis Jr who married Maria/Mariah NORMAN in Lewis Co (W)V in 1843 and disappeared from the face of the earth. Travis spent his life in present-day Lewis Co WV where I've uncovered deeds to prove that he did exist. And, he died in Harrison Co WV in Jul 1870 of kidney disease.
