If anyone is interested in obtaining "Daughter of the Elm" on audio tape - it just came out! When I was traveling by train to see my Mom in December, I just happened to meet the producer & narrator of this tape, Ross Ballard II. He had just completed the recording. He was so surprised that I knew this book well. You can read more him & a description of "Daughter" at his website. www.newrivergorge.com The print at this website is in yellow and is hard to see. You have to look very closely to find something to click on. For those who missed this interesting notation: >From HCGS's "Harrison County Heritage 1784-1995", p.31: Jarvisville Baptist Church Cemetery: "Albert H. Perine wrote a brief history of Jarvisville Baptist Church and Cemetery dated April 19, 1940. He, "Bub" and his wife, Blanch, owned the Jarvisville Store business for many years. One remark of interest is that "Richard Emerson (sic) is buried here; his house near Shinnston WV became the headquarters of the noted Daughter of the Elm (book) gang, (their fictious name was Emerson (sic); the old two-story house still stands. Ray Nay is buried here, he was one of the gang and his nickname was "Ray Harris". He married one of the Emerson girls - Louise Emerson." Sharon (Sprouse) Bramhall
