The Harrison County Genealogical Society held their regular monthly meeting this date at the Waldomore in Clarksburg, WV. Darrell Waugh, president, advised there would be NO trip to Richmond, VA in September as he only had 9 signed up to go. Darrell also told about the problems he had with trying to buy the refurbished microfilm reader. He is to order a new one this afternoon from a firm in Ohio. The society has ordered the 2 volumes of the Duvall book which is being published by Diane Dieterle of Salt Lake City, UT. John Pierce Duvall was a very prominent citizen of Harrison and Lewis Counties. It will not be published until fall. Several of the Duvall family are buried in the old part of the Bridgeport Cemetery, Bridgeport, WV. The annual picnic will be held at Lake Floyd, Rt 50 West of Clarksburg, WV, on the 13th of August. It will be covered dish affair with the society furnishing the hot dogs and hamburgers. We meet around 5:00 P.M. and eat sometime before 6:00. Patricia Dennison gave some reports on the upcoming workshop. We were going to try to have it in October but it was voted on to have it on May 17, 2003 and a place and time will be announced later. That will give us more time to get speakers and others to hold classes. We would like to make this a great workshop. There were 16 in attendance at today's meeting. Diana Johnson will be the volunteer at the Waldomore for the rest of July on Monday's and Thursday morning. David Houchin, librarian, has bought some WV History books from the James & Law Company, and they are still at the main library being cataloged. The next meeting will be held on Friday, August 2nd at the Waldomore in Clarksburg, WV. Ruby Casto Membership Chairman of HCGS
