Hi Folks, We had 24 in attendance at the HCGS picnic plus three football players from Liberty High School. As usual there was plenty of good food and if you were in the area and did not come you missed a good time. Rain was threatening in the Clarksburg area but when we reached Maple Lake the sun was shining but about 7:00 P.M. we did get a little rain. We have had some rain for the past 13 days. Clarence and Lois Price were in from California, Betty Williams from Florida and Jim & JoAnn Cottrill from Pittsburgh, Pa. It's always good to have Jim attend our functions because he is the shutter bug. I have already had a preview of the 34 pictures he took at the picnic yesterday evening. We also want to thank Jerry Hawkinberry for all of the work she does in making this picnic a success. When she comes, she has the hamburgers patted out and brings all of the necessary utensils, plates, etc besides getting the pavilion for us. What I like about the location you don't have to carry things but just a short distance. Diana Johnson & I did a little skit about HU being the leader of China, similar to Who is on First Base. Thanks Lee Jenkins. Diana also had a couple of mind puzzles for us to do. Don't forget the FTM workshop this Saturday, then the bus trip to DC on the 7th of October and lastly will be the Christmas Dinner. Ruby Casto
Ruby and All; I wish I could have been there and as usual the USPS can't let you off! Sounds like you all had a great time too bad I missed it! Maybe sometime I will get to come! Thanks for the notification on the Workshop too!
