Lee, Just saw your Robinson Search message - I thought I would throw this in: In doing research for our Summit Park community history book, I found an early settler named BENJAMIN ROBINSON, who had purchased 99 1/2 acres in 1795, from William and Joyce Murphy on Murphy's Run. This was one of the first settlements in our community. ("Summit Park - It All Began On Murphy's Run", p. 193-194 - Mary Virginia Sprouse & S. Bramhall). "Murphy's Run, branch of Elk Creek, beginning at the corner of Black's line running south to a red oak...to a black gum..red oak bush on John Black's line. Thence, with the meanders of the same to the beginning - the whole of the land is on the south of the said Black's land and adjoining lands of Benjamin Coplin, which the said Murphy now lives on, containing 99 1/2 acres, more or less, with all profits and commodies." (Harrison County WV Deeds 2:141) Note for out of towners: Summit Park is just east of Clarksburg, off old Rt. 50, and John Black's land was called "Black's Hollow" - also known as "Columbia Hollow" where Columbia Mines operated. (Two sets of my great-grandparents lived there.) The rows of coal company houses are now gone and a medical disposal facility occupies this land. Hope this helps put another piece in the puzzle!
