I haven't gone on the trip since the late 90's due to Bob's illness, but it is just a nice one day trip. We leave 5:00 A.M. from behind the library, stop over in Maryland for breakfast, get in DC about 10:00 A.M. and you are free to do whatever you want until 5:00 P.M. when the bus picks you back up at the Archives.
