Wikipedia has nothing on David Houchin! His knowledge in the areas of local history and genealogy is nothing less than encyclopedic! Anyone, from a newbie to the most seasoned researcher, can be certain to learn something from him. I cannot recall a visit to The Waldomore when he has not had an interesting story to share related to one of his historical projects. His enthusiasm and passion for local history is contagious! While researching a community history, I found David's guidance to be a comforting presence. His attention to detail and accuracy lends credence to his reputation as a historian and genealogist. David Houchin is well deserving and qualified to be recognized as a West Virginia History Hero.
