    3. Dear Patricia, Actually, I'm not sure I do have any Birds/Byrds in my line. However, the reason I put that down is that I have a gut feeling that there possibly could be. My line goes back to William Robinson born 1743 and the possibility that he had a "first wife.". (somewhere I had read this in a published book, but I can't find where I got it). The line is on my Grandmother Bertha Birdie Sylvester's side, and one day I was teasing her about her middle name. She said, "it is a family name". No where in her linage can I find the name Birdie, or even Barbara or anything remotely similiar that she might have been named after. In her memoires, she states that her father related that his grandmother , at the age of twelve, was captured by the Indians, but she escaped by following a stream that she knew led to the Ohio River. One of my theories is that there is a Sarah Bird that was born the same year as William robinson (1743), lived and traveled in approx the same region of VA/WV and the forth child of Robinsons was named Sarah. Again, no other Sarah's are found in his ancestry that I've run across. All the other names he named the children are after his father, mother, brother etc., but no onther Sarah. My feeling is that he might have married Sarah Bird, ( whose family was captured by the Indians and ("Daughter Sarah seem not to have been captured") and she perhaps died or was killed and he remarried. Just a hypothisis, but I keep hoping I'll run across an earlier marriage for him. Thank you for your note. 3. These are my notes on my Sarah Byrd b. 1743 to John T. Byrd and Margaret Dean. If I come across anything more will try to let you know. Patricia Byrd Family From Debbie Malec's page Dec. 1996 Source: Annals of Bath County; The Families of Greater Bath, p.190. Sarah, born 1743, does not seem to have been carried away & choose John DEAN as a guardian. She could have been born in England I am listing this info just in case Shropshire, England, Extracted Parish Records about Sarah Bird Text: 26 Sep 1743 - [sic], d. of Sarah Bird, bap. Book: Burials, Wedd. & Christnings, (Burial) Collection: Shropshire: Shrewsbury - St. Mary Parish Registers, Lichfield Diocese -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Julie Steves Sent: Monday, September 20, 2010 6:27 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [HCGS] NEW MEMBER Dear Patricia, Actually, I'm not sure I do have any Birds/Byrds in my line.
