Dave, Stopped by the HCPD Library today and checked on Rebecca Choco, she is a life member and we didn't have a e-mail address for her. So didn't get anything to help you.If no one has done so I will send her a note checking on her. At her age she may have passed away and no one has been notified. I know of a relative if he is still her I can call, but will have to find out where he is, he may have left the area. The family would be located at Jarvisville next to Salem. Rebecca' Mother is a Daughter of My Grandmother Sister, Susan Brown Jarvis. We have exchanged some family history. Betty resided there for 18 years then moved to join her mother, a WAC, at Aberdeen Proving Grounds, Md., where she met and married her first husband, Walter Sluder. They moved to his home in New York City after his discharge from the army. The marriage lasted 15 years. Betty married Ernest C. Siegfried, M.D., in 1960 on Staten Island, N.Y. Ernie was a physician in the U.S. Public Health Service and subject to being transferred. Then the journey began. Ernie, his two boys, Bryan and Karl, and Betty moved to Seattle, Wash., for two years, then to Phoenix, Ariz., for three years, then to Washington, D.C., where Ernie was attached to the Department of Justice. They lived in Bethesda, Md., for three years. They were then transferred back to Phoenix where Ernie retired. After Phoenix came Tucson for two years and finally they settled in Chino Valley, Ariz. Betty's loves were gardening, sailing, helping to protect the environment, and Ernie and her sons Bryan and Karl. She was a member of the Alta Vista Garden Club, the Nature Conservancy, the Ocean Conservancy and The National Wildlife Federation. Nielsen, Ethel Hammond, of Irvine, CA, passed away March 1, 2013. She was born in Clarksburg, WV to Clarence and Blanch Hammond April 15, 1918. Ethel had a full and rewarding life and she was a loving wife, sister, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Happily married to her adoring husband, Jack, for 67 years, they enjoyed many careers and traveled the world together. Some of those adventures took them to live in places such as Saudi Arabia and South Africa. She was a teacher and counselor at Bell High School. Ethel was very much ahead of her time; she loved her family, celebrated life, and had a flair keeping up with the latest technology. Ethel is survived by her husband, Jack; her daughter and son in law, Joyce and Jim Moyer; her grandson, Craig and Libby Moyer of Manhattan Beach; granddaughter, Lynne Moyer of New York City; granddaughter, Lisa and Bill Gillott of Lake Forest; also her great-grandsons, Eric and Drew Moyer; and great granddaughter, Madison Joy Gillott. We love you and you are forever in our hearts. Services to be held on Friday, March 8th at Saddleback Chapel, 220 E Main Street, Tustin, CA 714-544-1450. Dick, I have a Paul Fletcher in my family and Kelvin McCray was one of the earlier pastors at the Stonewall Methodist Church. This is how the Fletcher family is in my family. Jonathan B. Davis and Sarah "Sallie" Davis Davis were my gr. Grandparents, their daughter Christina "Tina" Davis married Thomas Shinn, their daughter Sarah "Sallie" Shinn married James Lewis Fletcher, (they had 3 boys and 1 girl) their son was Paul N. Fletcher died in 1997 and as far as I know he and his wife did not have any children. He lived upon Circle Drive. Paul, I have not been home to check my e-mails until a little while ago, I am sorry to hear of Ethel's death, she was a dear friend, also she and my husband had the same Davis line, And when HCPD was discussing the possibility of building an addition to the Library, Jack her husband help me do a draft of what the Library addition would look like I have a copy of it. Ethel and I sent e-mails to each other often and I knew she wasn't doing too good and Jack wasn't either. I have their address and I will send Jack a card. My thought and prayers go out to her family.
