    3. Dave it was so nice to see some interested in my family thanks a lot and keep up the good work you see I have the album of stone wall Jackson where he signed the back of his picture and etc..... Also I followed the works of others and went to England to find my Arnold family and Yorkshire is correct I now have the Arnolds back to the 800. very proud of my work also my Dads people were from Durhamshire England. I did them back to England and one of the Darnells married a Scotchlady. Isabella Kincaid and they worked the Irish sea..... also I followed the trail from England to the cemetery in Boston Mass . also Thomas from and his brother Governor Benedict Arnold and followed the son Benedict and now we go in to the Dar as he was political not considered a out cast. So back to Humphery I don't like to claim him he was a mean man But if I am correct and Norman is wrong well Richard the son of Thomas is of my clan. Richard Arnold had a big family hard to pen point ok but both was in Falkner( not sure I spelled this correct ) but then in to Virginia and then to wva. And my friend here I am your truly Louise Righman again thanks for the memories If I am visited I do share but need to know a head of time I have private Lib. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Dave Kuhl" <dbkuhl@bellsouth.net> To: <elnew109@ma.rr.com>; <hcgs@rootsweb.com> Sent: Saturday, May 18, 2013 1:05 AM Subject: [HCGS] Laura Jackson Arnold Stonewall Jackson is No. 185 in this file http://hackerscreek.com/norman/JACKSON/RICHARD.htm His sister Laura is No. 186. There is a birdseye view map of Clarksburg around that era that might show the school - does someone have one?   I've been looking for a link.  Would it possibly be included in the Farm Maps?    I bet you are right, Ted.  Our school house in Summit Park was first known as Despard School, then Summit Park Elementary and (with the addition of another building) Summit Park Junior High.  From: "wolfetm95@aol.com" <wolfetm95@aol.com> To: hcgs@rootsweb.com Sent: Saturday, May 11, 2013 1:45 PM Subject: Re: [HCGS] Elementary School in Clarksburg There was a multi class schoolhouse in Adamston during that time period.  I am not sure if it was the same structure that was tore down in the past 10 years or so when the grade school was moved to the old Victory high school building, but I imagine it was.  It was just called the Adamston School as far as I can remember. 1. [HCGS] Elementary School in Clarksburg
    2. I am interested in locating the Elementary School that my Mother, Mary Pue attended in 1914- 1920.  She lived in Clarksburg (Adamston).  I am hoping someone in your group could tell me the name of school in that time frame. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Ruby Casto" <recasto47@frontier.com> To: hcgs@rootsweb.com Sent: Saturday, May 4, 2013 6:40:20 PM Subject: [HCGS] MEETING The Harrison County Genealogical Society held their regular monthly meeting this date with 10 members in attendance.  It was good to have Betty Rinehart, Dot Sandy, Darla Everley and new member Janet Pratt with us today.   Ted and David did go to the Ritchie County Genealogy Fair last Saturday and David said he purchased the #1 volume of the 1880 Marsh Census book from HCPD.  He says he needs to also buy the #3 volume of the 1880 census as that is the one that includes Harrison County and it has been well used.   We only had 10 scholarship applications returned this year and Ted said that Liberty High School did not have anyone responding.  The committee to read those ten stayed after the meeting to read them.  This committee consisted of Susan House, David Houchin and Ted Wolfe.  This is a $500.00 scholarship.   The roof is still being worked on and David said we have had some rains since the job was started and he has not had any leaks.   We held the meeting downstairs once again this month as everything upstairs is covered over to keep dirt from falling down on it.   Don't forget the annual picnic has been scheduled for Monday, August 12th at the Maple Shelter in (Norwood Park) or the Clarksburg City Park as it is now called at 5:00 P.M.   Susan House has volunteered to help with the newsletter and David said that if anyone has any work in progress would they be willing to submit it for the newsletter.  We are in desperate need of articles for the newsletter.     We discussed a new brochure and our new member Janet Pratt has the software for a brochure and she would be more than willing to work up a new brochure and even put an application form on it.     David has talked to Barbara Palmer about the pedigree charts and they are working on the index.   A genealogy training seminar is going to held at the Waldomore, Thursday, May 23, 2013 at 7:00 P.M.  Co-sponsors include HCGS, Daniel Davisson Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution and the LDS Clarksburg Family History Center.  The event will be presented by Bob Fish of Parkersburg, who is widely regarded as an expert genealogist.  The seminar is free and open to the public.  Pre register with houchin@clark.lib.wv.us or by calling 304-782-0529.   Ruby Casto Membership Chairman of HCGS   ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to HCGS-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message
