    3. Hi All, I just got my mail and am sitting here in Oregon, snickering. It reminds me of when I moved to CA from back east several years ago. I had my parents living in WV, and my sister-in-law living in Dayton, OH. I used to mail both Xmas packages (or any other kind of mail) on the same day. Eva would get her's in a week, but my parents in WV had to wait another week before getting theirs! I finally drew the conclusion that they moved all mail by airplane until they got to the borders of WV-then it was switched to mule ..........a very slow mule <grin> Now you can holler at me! Oh Yes, I haven't got my newsletter yet either. I guess they use mules in Oregon too! 3. Ethel, When you say you have pictures of the Hammond farm, I know a person working on a Hammond family. Where was this one from and do you know the names of the farm owners or someone associated with it? This gal would be most appreciative if it ties in. I know in more recent times (mid 1950s) they were in Upshur County. I would have to get my daughter to try to find her phone number now. 2. Hi Ethel and Charlotte and HCGS, I am sorry to hear YOU are having so much trouble using the MyFamily.com sites. There are so many in GOOD Ones in WV. The HCGS site has about 175 names on the list and only about 50 have ever signed in and only about 15 use it regularly. Thats not a good average. I am glad to hear someone admit to why. I use to have much the same problem but after being persistent I was able to sign in to the HCGS site. Since that time I have joined 15 more. These sites in WV have some of the most friendly people on it and a wealth of info, stories and pictures. Some are fairly new and have grown at a rapid rate. Some sites can have a hundred people sign in a few days time. I don't think YOU have enough time to view all the pictures, history, family trees that are on these sites. I would recommend joining this site. The ladies on this site have written a guide and are on there to HELP YOU use their Calhoun, Roane, Braxton, and Clay Co.Tombstone Site@MyFamily.com. I would write them for some guidance. I have used their guide. Most all these sites are free and paid for by the administrators themselves with donations from various users. I sponsor 4 sites of my own and have paid for the HCGS 2 years running. and have donated to some on this list. I am disappointed in the use of HCGS. It really only serves 10 people out of 175. It is a closed site for members of HCGS. I think it might be better to open it up to the WV community. Harrison County was an important part of WV History. NOTICE HCGS is not on the list and neither is Harrison County. There are more sites but I grabbed Carolyn Bakers list because it was available. I would be glad to help YOU ladies any way I can. I would scan your pictures and put them on site for YOU. Jim =================================================== Calhoun, Roane, Braxton, and Clay Co. 2. Hi Ethel, The 3 part picture YOU had made would be great to put on some of the WV MyFamily.com sites to see if anyone could ID some of the people. But time is running out and going faster everyday. 1916 that is a long time ago, 87 years. We would be lucky to find anyone alive in that picture if they were a newborn at that time. 3. Charlotte No, you did not give me a copy of the 1915. Does it have names on the back? Someone suggested we put these on MyFamily.com. Maybe you could do this. I have not mastered how to read anything on that let alone trying to put something on it. I have visited the site several times but never able to access anything they say is on there; and, I have never been able to find any family sheets As to the picture of John Fleming, someone told me he was the teacher. My Dad was born in 1895 so I guess this picture was around 1910. Ethel
