There are 20 ships in this database; the first 10 are now online for you to search for that elusive ancestor. As always, all databases on Olive Tree are FREE to use. Please let each page load completely, then scroll down to read the list of passenger names. http://olivetreegenealogy.com/ships/tova_merchbona1635.shtml Merchant Bonaventure 1635 England to St. Domingo then Virginia http://olivetreegenealogy.com/ships/tova_america1635.shtml America 23 June 1635 England Virginia http://olivetreegenealogy.com/ships/tova_eliz1635.shtml Elizabeth of London 1635 England Virginia http://olivetreegenealogy.com/ships/tova_globe1635.shtml Globe of London Aug. 1635 England Virginia http://olivetreegenealogy.com/ships/tova_alice1635.shtml Alice July 1635 England Virginia http://olivetreegenealogy.com/ships/tova_assurance1635.shtml Assurance of London July 1635 England Virginia http://olivetreegenealogy.com/ships/tova_george1635.shtml George 12 Aug 1635 England Virginia http://olivetreegenealogy.com/ships/tova_david1635.shtml David 1635 England Virginia http://olivetreegenealogy.com/ships/tova_constance1635.shtml Constance 24 Oct. 1635 England Virginia http://olivetreegenealogy.com/ships/tova_abraham1635.shtml Abraham 1635 England Virginia To find ships to VA for other years, you can start your search at Ships to VA before 1820 http://olivetreegenealogy.com/ships/tousa_va.shtml or Ships to VA after 1820 http://olivetreegenealogy.com/ships/tousa_va1820.shtml Ships to VA before and after 1820 are INDEX pages - they have lists of online (free) passenger lists. Each ship has a link to click on which takes you to the names of passengers. Olive Tree ships are marked with my little Olive Tree button; ships on other sites are marked with a square "offsite" button. Hi Sue, Ruby and Members, You listed the names in the wrong order as administator. Ladys first, especially the ones who know what they are doing. Sue Moore, Ruby Casto have always been administrators. Jim Cottrill ask to be put on to try and help the people who are having trouble getting on site. I had a hard time getting on site myself at the beginning. I am no expert but noticed we have 165 names on the list and most have never signed in. I hope to be able to help some of these and to do this I may have to issue invites. That is my interest, seeing that YOU can get on and use OUR site. The HCGS MyFamily Site has been opened to other people interested in Genealogy from the surrounding areas by invitation. This was discussed at my request and approved by the board. These sites are not free and are funded by donations, and taken care of by the administrators. Ruby if YOU have time maybe YOU could check and see if the members list is updated and email address is correct. MORE Later, It took me about an hour to do all this typing. First are you on more than one www.myfamily.com site, then you should set up ONE username and password for all your sites. This makes it easy to get to all the sites you have access to. You can always change your username and password to one you can remember. Steps in making one Universal Login 1. Under Utilities look for Universal Login 2. Follow the steps The biggest problem is having more than one username and password for their sites. Then when they logon they are sometimes not where they are trying to get. They also forget the other usernames and passwords. Charlotte, Does MyFamily.HCGS require Cookies Enabled? I know it is that way with many sites. <Sharon><
Hi Ruby, I haven't received my newsletter here in Tucson yet. Am leaving tomorrow for San Carlos Mexico for a week so won't be able to update you if it comes tomorrow. A friend has a vacation home in San Carlos, right on the Bay so 8 of us are going down to spent a week just playing bridge, reading and relaxing. I am ready for it! Our YMCA Ladies group had a bake sale today that I was chairman (and chief baker) to raise money for summer camp scholarships. We made a little over $400 in about 4 hours. I had been baking all week (12 loaves of bread on Tuesday alone) so am ready for a little R & .R BTW- I have never been able to access My Family HCGS. I have joined, gotten a password and the whole bit but whenever I try to access a file, I get a message saying I am not qualified to view it. Perhaps others have the same trouble and that is why there is so little participation. I remember Ethel Neilson has trouble with it too. Hi Folks, We had a good attendance at our meeting this morning and it was good to have Jim Cottrill and his grandson from Pittsburgh, Pa. attend the meeting with us. Of course Jim had his camera so we should be seeing some new pictures. Professor Robert Anderson talked to us about a "New Deal Era" workshop that is going to be held in Fairmont, WV on May 13-15, 2003. This is in conjunction with the West Virginia CCC Museum Association and the Arthurdale, WV Heritage Foundation. Cost for the entire conference is $100.00. May 13th only $25.00, May 14th only $65.00 or May 15th only $35.00. For further information you can contact, Dr. Robert Anderson, 31 Maple Lake, Bridgeport, WV 26330 or phone him at 304-842-5194. Darrell Waugh, president, stated that he did bring in the brochure on the "Community of Guardian of Webster County, WV" and the book has been ordered. We will also be placing our HCGS in the Visitors Guide of Harrison County. Darrell also announced a workshop to be held at the Virginia Genealogical Society, Richmond, VA, July 6-10, 2003. I believe he said the cost was around $300.00. Patricia Dennison gave a report on the May 17th workshop and the computer classes will be held at the Waldomore. There will be someone at the Courthouse working with David Houchin, our librarian, to make copies for those needing something copied. This will be a regular worker from the Courthouse staff. Registrations are coming in already so be sure if you plan on attending to get yours back to us as soon as possible. How about the newsletters? Have you received yours yet? I haven't read my e-mail yet today. We also voted to open up myfamily.hcgs to people other than members so maybe there will be more traffic on it. OUR SOLDIERS They soar in jets above the land, They sail beyond the seas. They march across the desert, They crawl between the trees. No matter what the role they play Each chooses to protect The lives of all Americans. For this we owe a debt. Today, and every single day 'Til each returns safe and sound, Please say a little prayer For the troops: air, sea, and ground. God Please... Grant them courage, When times seem bleak. Grant them strength, When they feel weak. Grant them comfort, When they feel all alone, And most of all, God, Please bring them all home. PASS THIS ALONG TO ALL YOUR FRIENDS. OUR TROOPS NEED OUR PRAYERS. Consider each day a gift. Use each for who knows when we shall no longer be able to do so. James R COTTRILL. Actually this will work. I put out the "hard copies" of a newsletter for a group I belong to. Those that have internet access can view the newsletter on the website. The newsletter editor sends an email with the web address of where to locate the newsletter. Since I get a .pdf copy in my inbox to photocopy for others I never look at it online but... If anybody needs more information on how our newsletter editor does this, let me know and I will email her. As matter of fact she currently lives in WV, and I'm living in Southern MD. Oh, all of our "hard" copies go out by first class mail because it's only about 35 copies. Christine Emond ----- Original Message ----- From: "Barbara W. Ethel, I've checked our Robinson line and can't seem to find your Margaret. There are a lot of them and are probably all related. If we can help you with anything, let us know. Thanks for sending Jim the picture. We just looked at it and wish we knew all their names. Are you aware of a Swiger Museum in Doddridge County? We have been writing back and forth with her. If you would like it I can send you her email address. We spoke on the phone and are going down just as soon as possible. Seems like she is real nice and they are building more onto it. Jim Yes, I do defrag and scan on a regular basis. I seldom go to the internet because it is frustrating to never find what I am looking for and also, I guess it takes too much time. That is why I have Juno. Don't have to fool with the internet unless I want to. Are you related to Delbert Cottrill from East View? Ethel
