    2. RECasto
    3. The Harrison County Genealogical Society held their regular meeting this date on the second floor of the Waldomore, Clarksburg, WV. There were 18 in attendance today with Betty Williams, from Florida, Jim Cottrill from Pittsburgh and Arden& Ethel Swiger made it down from Elkins and it is always good to see the ones we don't see on a regular basis. The picnic will be on Tuesday, August 12th at 5:00 P.M. at Lake Floyd which is on RT 50 West of Clarksburg, WV. It is a covered dish with the society furnishing the hotdogs and hamburgers. We want to thank Jerry & Bill Hawkinberry for getting this location for the picnic. The FTM workshop will be on Saturday, the 16th of August at the Caperton Center, W. Main Street, Clarksburg, WV. This is a free workshop and registration will begin at 8:30 A.M. with the class starting at 9:00. There will be a couple of breaks and then lunch will be from 12:00 to 1:00. You will be responsible for getting your own lunch. You can bring it with you or go out. The class will be over at 3:30 P.M. There is room for about 125 people. Directions to the Caperton Center are: Traveling I-79 take the Clarksburg-Bridgeport exit which is 119. Proceed west on RT 50 to the Chestnut Street exit. The first stop light you come to will be on W. Pike Street, go through the light and the next stop light you come to will be on W.Main St. Turn left onto Main Street and go to the first stop light and you will see the Clarksburg Fire Department there. Turn right and turn right again into the Caperton Center Parking Lot. The trip to Washington, DC is still on for the 7th of October. The bus will leave from behind the Clarksburg Harrison Public Library about 5:00 A.M. If you are planning on going please get in touch with our president, Darrell Waugh at dew38@msn.com. Cost for members is $25.00 and non members $30.00. Even if you don't want to do genealogical research it is a nice trip and you can always go sight seeing. Our president, Darrell Waugh, and his wife Betty donated the following year books to the society: WI Washington Irving High School ,1923, (3) 1925, (2) 1926, 1927, 1928, 1957, 1958 and 1959. WVU, West Virginia University, 1928, 1931, 1948, and a 1953 Commencement Book. Salem College, 1923, 1924, 1931 South Harrison High School, 1974, 1976. Notre Dame High School 1961, 1962, 1963 Wallace Bulldogs 1988-89 RW, Roosevelt Wilson High School, 1965-66-67 Directory, 1968, 1969 and the 1970 RW reunion book. I think they found our librarian David Houchin in the 1968 and 1969 books of RW. Diana Johnson, editor of the newsletter, is still looking for someone to come up with a new cover for our newsletter. OK you artists get busy and see what you can come up with. Ethel Swiger stated that she had put a query in the newsletter and has been in contact with some very nice people. So she said, the queries do pay off. If you have a query for the newsletter send it to Diana Johnson, 26 Chieftan Hill, Clarksburg, WV 26301. It is easier for her to get them at home as she will be starting back to work soon. Hope to see some new faces at the annual picnic. Ruby Casto recasto@iolinc.net Membership Chairman of HCGS
