    3. Dave We just got our 200th participant, which includes 16 mtDNA, and 22 Family Finder (this group is growing fast!). Many of the mt and FF also did Y-DNA. Our project ranks about number 126 in size, compared to the BARTLETT surname being in the 300s for frequency. Ours is a very active and robust project, with many "teams" working on the 19 separate lines we've identified so far; and those trying to get other lines represented by matching DNA from at least two descendants. We've determined the biological father in four cases where the DNA didn't match as expected (all in late 1700s); and I'm actively working with three adoption issues which probably have BARTLETT fathers (the Family Finder DNA test is helping in two of these) Actually, I am active in the research of all of the BARTLETT lines. And now with Family Finder we can work with any descendant of a BARTLETT line, no matter how many males and females the descent goes through to the living DNA participant! We are having a lot of fun - and it's quite exciting, using the new DNA tools to augment our traditional (and sometimes, exhausted) paper records. As always, I encourage every serious genealogist to get the DNA of their lines documented! DNA Kits make great gifts - it's fun, interesting, informative, and using the results keeps the gift going for many months. Jim - Sent from my iPhone - FaceTime! 3. Dave I saw a quote recently that 80% of the folks in England descend from Edward I; and so folks who can take their ancestry back to the early/mid-1600s in Colonial America, would probably descend from Edward also. It turns out George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Barack Obama, and I all descend from Edward I, and are therefor cousins. Jim - Sent from my iPhone - FaceTime! 3. Are you related to someone famous?   We have all been entertained by President Barack Obama’s comments that genealogists have linked him to Vice President Dick Cheney and Barack commenting that he wished they would find somebody cool that he was related to.   Well depending on your political point of view a lot of us are either blessed or cursed by being related to President George W. Bush.   All of us with the Cutright ancestry and most with the Stout ancestry are related.   Look at:   http://www.wargs.com/political/bush.html   This is an Ahnantafel chart presentation.  The numbers are the same as those on a standard pedigree chart extended infinitely. For Cutright ancestry, go to number 3918, 7836, 15672, etc.   President G. W. Bush and President Obama are also related. Go to number 5512.   There are many more famous people in this list.
