Our Central Pa. weather is a beautiful 39 degrees . Husband was discharged from the hospital late Friday night with pnuemonia and congestive heart failure. Had a bad night last night. We made it to vote with a portable oxygen tank, him in a wheelchair and one stuborn WV woman. . He said he never would have voted if I hadn' t said. "You are going to vote, it's a close election!". Think the outing did him good. A GOOD LAUGH AND A LONG NIGHTS SLEEP ARE THE TWO BEST CURES FOR ANYTHING. Thanks, Ruby - it's a nice start. Liked their graphics and enjoyed the pictures (but it would have been nice if there had been captions). Our areas of interest are so similar. Thankyou , Dick. She was a very strong woman to overcome all those problems. ________________________________ Thank you Dick for this story of pass times. Ruby, The big thing is I do not want to go to Charleston to get a picture taken and there are probably others that are much more deserving of the award than I am. If David wants my bio he can go to my web site www.rwilt.com and click on Biographies and there is more than he will ever need for a bio. Basically I was born at a very young age and grew up to be a dirty old man!! I didn't just miss the Genealogical Society but I was suppose to go later to help some others guys but I think they really didn't need another supervisor, they needed someone to work. The Harrison County Genealogical Society held their regular monthly meeting this date with seven persons in attendance. It was good to have Patricia Dennison in attendance today. We are missing several of our regular members and we hope that it is not due to illness. David had gone book shopping and bought the following books: Monongah Disaster by Davitt McAteer He bought a new book to replace our old one on the History of Randolph County, by Hu Maxwell Don't buy another vote, I won't pay for another landslide by Dr. Allan Loughry II Moth Man by Jeff Wamsley Historical Atlas of West Virginia by Frank S. Riddel Bemis & Glady of WV by Steve Bodkins The Christmas dinner will be on Saturday, December 15th at 2:00 P.M. at the Parkette Restaurant. It will be a gift exchange as before. Something that can be used by male or female. Antero will copy our obits and will bring their own scanner to do it with and will compensate us for copying them. They will be doing it themselves. West Virginia History Day will be on the 21st of February 2013 and we nominated Dick Wilt, our webmaster, as the hero from the HCGS. He does a lot for our group. It is becoming dues time once again as our dues runs from January 1st through December 31st. We would appreciate it if you would mark your application whether you want a membership card or not. Of course the lifetime members already have one so they do not need to respond. Steve Maxwell from the Sons of the American Revolution came to the meeting and wanted to know if we would be interested in going in with them and others to hold a genealogy seminar probably in April or May. We voted to participate and it will probably be held at the Waldomore. Of course no plans were made only a suggestion where it might be held. Our next meeting will be on Saturday, December 1st. WVU football WVU is playing Texas Christian at about 1:30 EDT and is being broadcast on my local Fox channel. I don’t think either team is ranked in the top 25. Now that the bubble has burst and there is no chance for a national championship or even a conference title, they can play for the fun of it. The pressure to win is off. Maybe they can still get a bowl bid. Clarksburg native, ESPN announcer Mike Patrick will be announcing the Oklahoma vs. Iowa State game at about 3:30 EDT. Dick I printed it out & it made a hit with all the nurses! We have 24 hr help. Jack has been alert every since I discovered him awake last night when I read it to him. Thank you - Love you & the people of my home state who made me who & what I am! Ethel---I think the reason Jack always liked to visit was his olde-world heritage! He sure related to the state & my relatives too! ________________________________ From: "cn8ff@aol.com" <cn8ff@aol.com> To: hcgs@rootsweb.com Sent: Thu, November 1, 2012 11:55:34 AM Subject: [HCGS] WVHCGS Web Site Update The West Virginia Harrison County Genealogical Society Web Site has been updated for November 1, 2012, Great Story.
