    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Hays, Crump, Miller, Meteer, Scholl Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/Xih.2ACEB/1594 Message Board Post: Louisa Hays (1810, KY-bef. 1890) the daughter of Boone Hays and Lydia Scholl m. Thompson Smith Crump and had Henry Thompson Crump (1827), Richard Crump (1828), Daniel Boone Crump (abt 1831) and Thompson Smith Crump (1833 or 1835). Thompson Smith Crump died bef. 1840 and several refs. say she m. John Dearing in 1841. There is a John Dearing listed in the 1840 Callaway Co., Census but not thereafter. There are no census listings for a Louisa Dearing in the 1850 - 1880 census in MO. In the 1850 Callaway Co. census sons Henry and Thompson are listed living with the James Crump family and Thompson is also listed living with John Meteer and family on the same page. It appears that John Meteer (Mateer) had a brother, Samuel Meteer and I find him in the 1850 census living near Williamsburg on 9 Mile Prairie with wife Louisa, b. abt 1819 KY. This Louisa was apparently Louisa Miller who m. Samuel Mateer in Callaway Co., MO in 1846, but Miller may have been her married name becau! se the 1850 lists a Catherine Miller as one of the children. The other children listed were John, Mary F. and Benjamin F. Meteer. Samuel Meteer and family are not listed in the 1860 Callaway Co., or MO census but the farm they lived on seems to be occupied by William and Richard Hays and Louisa Hays Crump Dearing had two brothers named William and Richard. Next door is S. R. Scholl, a cousin of Louisa Hays. Louisa Miller Meteer reappears in the Williamsburg 1870 and 1880 censuses as the head of the household living on a farm that seems to be where Richard and William Hays lived in the last census. In addition to the Meteer children listed above are Albert and Alice Meteer and living with them in 1870 is Isaac F. Fulkerson, a son of Caleb Ewing Berry of Callayway Co. Caleb was related to Louisa Hays through the marriage of his two sisters, Rebecca and Mary B. to her brothers, Amazon and Samuel Hays. Except for her being born in abt 1819 in KY instead of 1810 in KY as Louisa Hays was, Louisa Miller Meteer could be the missing Louisa Hays as she seems to have strong ties to Louisa Hays's relatives. Has anyone any information on what happened to Louisa Hays Crump Dearing (?) after 1840?
