Samuel may have married a second time to Kate M. --- or Mary Catherine (a Canadian born). Children included William B. b. 1872, Essie b. 1875 and Elda B. b. 1878. Samuel resided in Warren County Ohio until about 1838 when he and Elizabeth moved to a farm in York Township, Darke County Ohio. Around 1844 he sold the farm and apparently resided in the Cincinnati, Ohio area. In 1846 he bought another but smaller farm in Wabash Township, Darke County. This is where most of the children were born. In 1853 he sold that farm while residing in Berien County, Michigan. While Elizabeth is recorded on the sale documents, she may have already been dead. The family, without Elizabeth, appears next in 1860 in Christy Township, Lawrence County, Illinois. Samuel is shown in the 1860 census as a physician. He practiced medicine in Bridgeport, Ill for many years afterwards. Anyone with information about any member of this family please contact me (kentgl@adelphia.net). I am also interested in determining the children of John Hays and Betsey Kelsey. They may have been Samuels parents.
