this sounds a wee bit like one of the two major Hays lines found in Saline County, Missouri. Particularly, if there is any chance that the name Walburn could be Lilburn. the name Marion was used in the hays-Owen line that is found buried in saline County. A William Hays, born 1773, was one of the first of two white settlers in that county, arriving in 1815 with the Wilhite family (or Wilhoit). Both men served with Daniel Morgan Boone in the War of 1812, left when the war was over, but failed to muster out and were listed as "deserters". William Hays married Martha Hamilton and had a son named William, though my dates and place of birth don't match. Phil Lindsey > > Subject: > William G. However, it lists his children, Martha, Harvey, Leroy, Walburn, David, Marion, Albert, and John as being born in MO, with their father, who would be William G. Hays, being born in KY, so that information conflicts. I believe William's mother's name is Elizabeth. > >I can't find any information earlier than that on MO, KY, or IL censuses. > >If anyone has any information or can help, it would be greatly appreciated.
