I am curious if you have any information on David E. Beistel's parents. David E. Beistel was my great grandfather (my mother's grandfather) who fought in the Civil War. He was born in 1839 (?). I have David's grandmother (Susan Beistle-as spelled in census) because she was listed as living with him in a census. The other census I looked at was the 1870 census which shows the names of these Beistle's living with Susan in the 1870 census household was Philip, David (my great grandfather), and Hannah. David E. Beistel was married to Mary Carvel (sp?) and in the 1880 census had five children: Bertha, Benton, Barton, Rebecca, and Bayard. I hate to ramble on so please email me if any of these names looks familiar to you. I'd appreciate you help!
