Hey cousin, how are you doing? I still have not found anything out about Bettie Cottrill. I have information about Morg's first wife, Mary Jane Given and, of course, quite a bit of information about Morg's third wife, Electa Nottingham or Electa Duffield (since she used both names as her maiden name). I have never been able to find out more information about Bettie other than what I have off their marriage license. The information on that states that she was born in Clay County about 1882. I have contacted many Cottrill researchers from the Clay County area and they do not have her in their data bases. I am beginning to think that maybe when she married Poppie it was her second marriage and that Cottrill was not her maiden name, but a married name. I have never been able to find out when she died either. I found some court cases involving her and Poppie in Clay County from back in 1909. I was always told that she died before he married my grandmother, Electa, in 1915. I think that she might be buried up at Duffield Cemetery near Duck in an unmarked grave. There are quite a few graves up there that were marked with stones that have disappeared over the years. I know that there have been quite a few times where they went to dig a grave up there and found that someone was already buried there. Even Poppie's grave is not marked. If I could figure out exactly where it is I would put a tombstone on it. My dad said that he is sure it had one at one time and your mom says the same thing. My dad says it is in the next row up from his mother's and about 6 or so graves over. LoisAnn > I"m a grandaughter of Harvey Hayes who live at Maysel,West Virginia. Clay Co.
