I think the Prior HAYS in 1850 is Sherman Prior HAYS. The woman maybe his grandmother. Thursday March 4, 2004 *Obituaries for March 4 * *Samuel S. Hays* Samuel Searles Hays Jr., 79, of Country Lane, died Tuesday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center. Born Jan. 24, 1925, in Boyle County, he was the son of the late Samuel S. and May Essie Cozatt Hays. He was a farmer and an employee of Danville Leaf Tobacco Co. for 35 years. He was a member of The Presbyterian Church and Franklin Lodge 28 F&AM. He was a graduate of Parksville High School. He also was an Army veteran of World War II, serving as a sergeant in the European Theater, and the recipient of a Purple Heart, Bronze Star and Silver Star. Survivors include his wife, Jane Brumfield Hays; a son, Sam Hays III of Clemons, N.C.; a brother, John Hays of Danville; and a granddaughter. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Bellevue Cemetery. Memorials may go to Boyle County Humane Society.

Rebecca's first husband was Capt. Thomas Maxwell, and they had two daughters, Mary and Sarah, my ancestor. Then, she and John Hays had Harmon A. (father of Capt. None of my family here in Namibia or South Africa could recall relatives in Togo, and when I requested this " Barrister " to send me birth dates and full names he just insisted on everything being legal and needed bank details from me. I never replied again, and my internet search placed him under Nigerian scams. You won't believe all the scam-mails I received after that one. And me being so gullable to believe and trust people , I almost fell for the joke.
