You catch my attention when you mention Haydens and Oklahoma, so I will post my Hayden family. They originated in Braintree, Mass. From there they went to Raymond, Maine. About 1840, my Dr. Clement B. Hayden (a Mayflower line) migrated west, stopping to survey the new town of Neosho, MO and settling in Maysville, AR which is on the AR/OK border. He married Lucinda Jane Fullerton and their children were: Florence, Loretta, Clement Jr, William, Lucinda, Emma, Mary Angeline (mine), Thomas Herbert, John and Eddie. I would love to hear from other family members of this line. Thank you. Barbara Holman --- On Sun, 8/26/12, hayden-request@rootsweb.com <hayden-request@rootsweb.com> wrote:
My notes show my 1st husband's Thayer family line joining the Hayden line in 1679 with the marriage of Nathaniel Thayer (1657/58 - 1728) to Hannah Hayden (1660/61 - 1743) in Braintree, Massachusetts Bay Colony, British Empire. She was a daughter of John Hayden and Hannah Ames. Their daughter Hannah married Thomas Vinton. We're fairly certain of the lineage from this couple to the present day. They had a son named George DOLLEY, born about 1796, who married Martha FOSTER, as his second wife, and so on. We've also identified a Hannah HAYDEN, daughter of Richard HAYDEN and Mary JORDAN, born about 1770, in Gray, ME. We have Hannah as the sixth of 12 children born to Richard and Mary. Their fifth child was named Clement, born in Gray, ME. This Richard HAYDEN was born in Braintree, MA, and he and Mary were married in Braintree. His parents were Clement HAYDEN and Hannah HOGAN, Clement's first marriage. He later married Hannah BLANCHARD, when he was 55 and she was 34. Clement HAYDEN and Hannah BLANCHARD had two daughters (Jerusha, b. 1763 and Hannah, b. 1765) and a son (Jeremiah, b. 1768). The two marriages of Clement HAYDEN create a problem for us, trying to identify which Hannah HAYDEN married William DOLLEY. Was it the daughter of Clement HAYDEN and Hannah BLANCHARD, or the granddaughter of Clement HAYDEN and Hannah HOGAN? The daughter is only 5 years older than the granddaughter. Either could fit into the marriage with William DOLLEY. Any help resolving this mystery would be appreciated. Bruce Bardes Cincinnati
I have photocopied pages somewhere that out line the entire Hayden genealogy and would likely be very helpful. I am just not sure if I have the copies or if they are stored in some things of my mothers. The name of the book is "a genealogical history of our ancestors" and it has several families in it. You might check for it in your local library.
