George, It's amazing, with so much Hayden information availableto be able to slip through the cracks is really something! It is remarkable that your Hayden DNA doesn't match up at all. You must be from a thoroughly different Hayden line completely. Hope you find your line! John partners@houseofhayden.com wrote: John and Linda, Know just what and how you feel. I even did the Hayden DNA and was told that I don't match Hayden. I guess I started my own Hayden with just me. I can find my g grandfather on the census but only after he was married and had my grandmother and her sister. They lived all their lives in Springfield MA until after my g grandmother died and he moved to Iowa to live with my grandparents until he passed away. Any info would be very helpful no matter how little it is. Linda Hopkins --------------------------------- Don't pick lemons. See all the new 2007 cars at Yahoo! Hi all, I have been watching these recent posts. As we have disproved the three Hayden "brothers", and cant find any likely cousins during the 1630's the DNA results are now giving major problems for some lines. Obviously one of them seems to have been a descendant of Thomas de Heydon, but are we looking at a man who travelled on the same ship, perhaps he had no family and "attached" himself to the real Haydon for various reasons? He then used the Haydon name when he got to America, as only one Haydon appears to be listed on the ship [I don't think there is a full list of names?] Irish Haydons had changed the spelling of there original name, for a number of reasons; and Irish DNA will be very different from the Norman; by a few thousand years. We also have the possibility of other Haydons changing their name, orphans, child of a Haydon wife but not a Haydon father. [It has happened] etc. etc. So a true Haydon of Devon DNA will not have changed much in this time frame. And not very much from a Norman. As far as I know, no one has yet studied to find the major DNA groups of say the Normans, ancient Irish [6,000 years ago out of Spain] etc. etc; because this sort of thing would be very useful.
