    3. I have photocopied pages somewhere that out line the entire Hayden genealogy and would likely be very helpful. I am just not sure if I have the copies or if they are stored in some things of my mothers. The name of the book is "a genealogical history of our ancestors" and it has several families in it. You might check for it in your local library. My notes show my 1st husband's Thayer family line joining the Hayden line in 1679 with the marriage of Nathaniel Thayer (1657/58 - 1728) to Hannah Hayden (1660/61 - 1743) in Braintree, Massachusetts Bay Colony, British Empire. 3. My Great Grand Father, Benjamin Solomon married in Ida County Iowa on 2 January 1887 to Nancy Ellen Hayden. By 1900 they are living on a homestead in Bonesteel, SD and they have a daughter Myrtle born before Ben and Nancy married. The listed parents of Nancy Ellen were J.W. Hayden and Mary Jane Solomon. Family has always told me that Nancy Ellen was a cousin to Benjamin. Looking at marriage records in Vigo county Indiana, I find that John W. Hayden married Mary Jane Solomon on 27 October, 1853. Looking on the 1850 Vigo co. Ind. census I do see a Mary Solomon at about age 14 living with a family and that she may be an orphan. The census listed her with Thomas Hanam age 32 born Pa. wife Ann son Samuel. I am unsure if the spelling of Hanam is correct or if Mary is related in any way to this family. I have been unable to find John W. and Mary Jane Hayden on the 1860 census, however they are found on the 1870 and 80 census of Cass County Indiana. Names of children on 1880 are Elizabeth A., Jery, E.(That name should be Perry), NANCY E, Viola, Peter, Alice and Henry all said to be born in Indiana. In 1870 they had John W. , William, Elizabeth, Perry, James E., ELLEN, Charles F. and Viola Using Cass co. Ind records I find that John W. Hayden Sr. died in about 1881. Marriage records for Cass co. show that Mary J. Hayden m. George W. Benson, 25 Nov. 1882- Cemetery records show a George W. Benson 1858- 1886 Nancy Ellen Hayden m. Joseph D. Fry or Frye on 6 July 1884 Viola Hayden m. Stephen Rush 10 Aug 1897, there are about 18 Hayden marriages listed in Cass co records I later find that in 1900-1910 Perry Hayden is living in Washita , Union twp. Oklahoma Some where I found records for a Cemetery in Jones, Oklahoma Co. Oklahoma for a Mary Jane Benson, 5 Oct, 1834 to 29 June 1906. This maybe the former Mary Jane Solomon Hayden. I read the the Cemetery was abandoned. It was called Golkey Family Cemetery Are any of you on the list able to help me find out more about Mary Jane Solomon Hayden and Ellen Nancy and her child Myrle Frye. I need to know where they lived, there are indications that Nancy Ellen may have been in Oklahoma as Myrle listed her mother as born in Ok. the other records list Nancy born in Indiana. Most of all I would like to know who the parents of Mary Jane Solomon are. I need to see if I can find and obit. or death record for her. Hope some one on the list can tell me more about this family. There is one HAYDON. There are 2 HAYDENs listed under Gananoque, approx. 20 miles east of Kingston. Two more HAYDENs under Lansdowne, a few miles east of Gan., which suggests to me there may be a connection between the two groups. There are no listings in any of the other hamlets to the north or west of Kingston for HAYDEN. Nowhere in the book are there any listings for HAEDEN / HEADON. Bear in mind, there could be some who are X-directory or who have now gone completely mobile (cell phones). If it were me, I'd be contacting those folk in Gan and Lansdowne! Toni ~ Kingston Ontario
