    1. [HAWKINS-US-NORTHERN] Parents of Lydia Wylie (b. 24 March 1788), wife of Alexander Gray (b. 1793 Monroe Co, (W)Va)
    2. Lee Ann Dauphinot
    3. In researching Lydia Wylie (b.24 March 1788), wife of Alexander Gray (b.1793 Monroe Co, (W)Va), I have found two different sets of parents: John Wylie and Lydia Hawkins and Andrew Wylie and Annie Boggs. Does anyone have any documentation suggesting which is the correct set of parents and what the connection of the wrong parents might be? I'd be grateful for any help. Thanks. Lee Ann Dauphinot

    1. [HAWKINS-US-NORTHERN] Hawkins Holiday Traditions
    2. Allen Lawrence
    3. What Holiday traditions did your ancestry have? My paternal grandmother Lula Hawkins passed along this Christmas tradition. It was called Chocolate gravy. Before you say yuck! Here is the recipe. Take equal amounts of flower, cocoa, sugar, and a pinch of salt. You add more sugar if you want to make it sweet. I do three tablespoons of Flower, cocoa, and 5 tablespoons of sugar. Mix these dried ingredients well then add boiling water and mix until you get the consistency (thickness or thinness you want). Butter biscuits and cover them with the chocolate gravy. It is so good with breakfast. This has been passed down and now my Daughter is passing it on down. I don’t have a clue where this came from but my grandparents were poor and did what they could to feed all of their 9 children. This was back in the 1920’s in The United States. Take the time and share what traditions your ancestors have during this time of the year. No matter what Country or belief you have. 1. [HAWKINS-US-NORTHERN] Lydia Hawkins dau of Thomas
    2. Paradise Gal
    3. Hi List Here are my answers to the posted questions. I can trace my family back to Lydia Hawkins. I have documented evidence of Lydia and would like some more clues. I understand Lydia was the daughter of Thomas Hawkins and Sarah Hargrove. Lydia was born abt 1772/3 and had several siblings. Absolom, b. abt 1765; Richard, b. 1770; Elizabeth, b. abt 1775; Mary, b. 1776; William, b. 1787; Thos Jr., b. 1784; Ruth, b. 1789; Ann & James. Lydia m. Joseph Fowler and the couple lived in Washington Co. PA. On the 1790 census, many Fowlers, Hawkins and Hargroves appear to be neighbors. In 1800, Thos Hawkins and Joseph Fowler are located in E. Bethlehem and Pike Run TWP's of Washington Co. PA I am looking for more info about Thos Fowler, Lydia's father and Sarah Hargrove, Lydia's mother. I am also looking for a family of Jos Fowler. Actually any info that can help me sort out this line of Hawkins. Lydia and Joseph had three children. Thomas, William and Elizabeth. Thos & Wm went to IL and Elizabeth m. Wm Keys and went to IN. Love to chat/share with anyone who may know about Thos Hawkins and his wife Sarah Hargrove Hawkins of Washington Co. 3.  Hello All, I just 'discovered' this resource. My apologies to those who are already aware of it but for those of you who are not, it might save you time and money. http://www.rootsweb.com/~bwo/index.html It is a list of book owner's who are willing to do look-ups for anyone that asks. They also are looking for volunteers but according to the website, that portion will not be operable again until July. I think this can be a great resource to many of you. Good luck in your searches.
