I remember visiting your grandpa, Joshua Haught, when I was a young child. He was my gr-gr-great uncle; the only 4th degree relative I can remember meeting. And I've seen your Mom at reunions; Grandpa always spoke fondly of her. My line is through Elias's son Martin, then Michael (my grandpa). I imagine you've already found any info I could offer about the Haughts. I've been trying to get more info re: Haughts in the Revolutionary War. There doesn't seem to be much out there. Do you have any info on Coty Deem, who married Arzana Haught? She was Martin's oldest daughter. I seem to be related to the Deems through the Haughts and the Riggs. I'll appreciate any info you can share. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. I have been working on my family tree for quite awhile now, and have always had a road block when it comes to my paternal lineage. Today while browsing, I found the Haught Family site and an incredible wealth of information. I am descended from Mary Ann Haught who Married Elias Roberts. Finding this information about her side has rekindled my search for my family line. I am wondering if by chance anyone has any further information regarding her husband Elias. Perhaps someone is from the same line. Any information will be a great help. Thanks Brandi Roberts daughter of Bradley Roberts son of James Arlond Roberts and Martha Bates son of John J. Author: robbyn2008 Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.haught/334.1.1.3.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: How nice to meet you. I remember Aunt Avis visiting at our White Pigeon, Michigan house. I was only 4 or 5. Uncle Ira spotted some Huckleberry bushes from the bed of a moving pickup. What an eye! We probably ate as many as we brought home. I've heard great stories about Martin and Hannah's place. My mom used to stay for weeks at a time. They could drive only so close, then they walked across a swinging bridge and climbed a footpath the rest of the way. Martin & Hannah grew tobacco -- and everything else they needed. Hannah's hair had gone pure white when my Mom was a child, and she always wore it pinned up with ivory and bone combs. When she let it down at night, it went on forever. We did make it to the Haught cemetery once. I understand it to be a burial ground for all of the Indian Creek/Haught generations. The big plain stones mark Native graves. Keep me posted on your Haught research. I hope we can swap some Cousin stories. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
