Hatcher Jr., 78, of Grand Ridge entered into eternal rest Thursday, Sept. 18, 2008, after a brief illness. A native of Jackson County, Mr. Hatcher retired after 36 years of service with the Florida Forestry Department. He was a lifetime farmer and attended the El-Bethel Assembly of God Church. He was a devoted husband and father. He will be missed dearly by all. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles H. and Ealier Jane Neel Hatcher; one brother, Shellie Hatcher. Survivors include his wife, Lillian Hatcher of Grand Ridge; two sons, Gene Hatcher and wife, Marilyn, of Dothan, Ala., and Dennis Hatcher and wife, Marjorie Ford, of Bascom; two daughters, Pam Williams and husband, Maxwell, of Marianna, and Ruth Wombacher and husband, Doug, of Miami; two brothers, William Hatcher and wife, Barbara, and Millard Hatcher and wife, Emmalene, all of Grand Ridge. He was blessed with seven grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. The funeral service will be at 2 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 21, at the El-Bethel Assembly of God Church, with the Rev. Michael Stephens and the Rev. Jerome Lewis officiating. Burial will follow at Cypress Grove Cemetery, with James & Sikes Funeral Home - Maddox Chapel directing. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 20, at the El-Bethel Assembly of God Church in Grand Ridge.
