    3. Nel, Thank you very much for the information. I would just love to get my hands on some scans of that bible. What are the origins of the transcription? With my SAR research, I have a copy of a letter from Robert White, Clerk of Adair County Court, Columbia, Kentucky, dated 11 June, 1962 to Mrs. Sherman B. Watson. The letter testifies that Jeremiah Hatcher and Polly Waggener were married on 11 June 1811. The minister was Isaac Hadgen. The record comes from Marriage Book No. 1 Page 27. There is also a 2 page letter from John Paul Grady to Mrs Watson dated 22 November, 1962, referencing a DAR application for Mrs. Pearl Hatcher Morrison. The letter provides "necessary proof" that Jeremiah Hatcher (b.1785) was a son of Nancy "Ann" (Haskins) Hatcher. The proof uses the 1810 and 1820 Federal Censuses, Marriage Records, and the 1815 Tax Roll of Green County to show that Jeremiah must have been Henry's son. Basically, it establishes that, as you say, it would be a stretch to assume this Jeremiah was not the son of Henry. If anyone would like me to post scans of the three pages, drop me a line. If anyone has any other proof of the Jeremiah to Henry relationship, I would definitely be interested. Thank you very much, Dan Rolph "Henry Hatcher's (b.1755) 4th great grandson" On Sep 4, 2008, at 1:43 PM, nelhatch wrote: > > HATCHER website: http://hatcherfamilyassn.com > HALL DNA project: http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~nhatcher/hall/HDNAtest.htm > "If you can't stand the skeletons, stay out of the closet" - Val D > Greenwood > > Dan, > > The bible entries for Henry/Nancy Haskins were entered from a > transcript. Sandi specializes in general KY research but not specific families so she is not a Hatcher descendant and it is likely she herself has never seen the originals. But it is possible she may know where they are. http://boards.ancestry.ca/localities.northam.usa.states.kentucky.counties.barren/2906/mb.ashx She only states it was "copied" but does not state by whom.
